Can't-Wait Wednesday

Welcome back to Can't Wait Wednesday! This is a weekly meme hosted by Tressa at wishfulendings. The purpose is to feature a book, usually one that is not yet published, that we would like to read. I will expand this meme to talk about books on my TBR. The book I will feature today is Shadow and Bone, the first book in the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.

Goodreads Summary

Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

Why I want to read this- they hype This book and I want to see how the book lives up to all the hype. I have come across some people that loved the book and the series, and some that have not loved it as much as others. I love the vibes this book gives off from the summary, and I can't wait to dive into the world.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday-- Favorite Places to read

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme Jana hosts @ thatartsyreadergirl This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will post our list as a reply. We also have the option of going rogue, and posting a topic of our own choosing or a past topic. This week out topic is favorite places to read.   1- At my desk   I read a lot in my room and at my desk. I’m trying to find another method because I tend to stop reading and look at a notification that distracts me. I enjoy reading at my desk because it’s easy.  2- In bed I need to be wide awake to read in bed, but I might start doing it more. Reading in bed is less distracting for me, but it still can make me tired. 3- In the car Some weeks I spend a lot of time in the car. When I’m in the the car I’ll try to read a chapter or two, but it sends up being more like 3-4 depending on how long the car ride is.
