Top Ten Tuesday- I see stars

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. The weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, our topic is books on our TBR that we think will be 5 star reads. In 2020, I have been harsher with my ratings, giving some 4 star and some 5star ratings. The title comes from the last song on the Mean Girls cast recording because I couldn't waste the opportunity to use the reference.

1- The Untold Stories of Broadway by Jennifer Ashley Tepper

This is a Non-Fiction book I've had on my TBR forever, and I will use it as a prompt for my big card this year. My book is signed because I met the author at Broadwaycon a few years ago. The book is about unknown facts or a history of a theatre by a theater historian and I can't wait to read it.

2- Lucky Caller by Emma Mills

I don't have a copy of this yet, but this is a new release from an author I loved in 2019.  Emma Mills writes YA with a balance between light-hearted, and heavy-duty, so I know this book will be a hit for me. I want to work this into my TBR for the summer.

3- In the Neighborhood of True by Susan Kaplan Carlton

I needed to put a Historical Fiction on this list because I'm me and Historical Fiction is one of my top genres. Anyway, I am very excited to read this because I saw positive reviews for this book. The book came out in 2019, and I just never got a copy until late last year or early this year when it was on sale.

4- My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoic

Another historical! I'm a fan of the musical Hamilton, and this was one reason I added this to my TBR, I know it probably will not relate to the musical, but in my head it makes sense. A friend also asked me if I had read this book, and it was then that I told myself it would be a priority. Anyway, I can't wait to get into this story.

5- Alice By Heart by Stephen Sater

The last Historical Fiction of the bunch!!! This book comes out today and I can't wait to get into the story. What drew to this book in the first place was being a fan of the musical and being a fan of Alice in Wonderland in media.

6- Yes, No, Maybe So  by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed

I honestly can't wait to start this book today!!! Becky Albertalli is someone I love from Simon Vs the Homo sapiens Agenda and Leah on the Off Beat. This book seems so cute and I'm in the mood for a new contemporary.  The story seems so sweet and very relevant to now.

7- Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

I read some fantasy when the characters are compelling and there is not as much world-building. The reviews of this book seem positive and I can't wait to read this!

8- Bookish Boyfriends  A Date with Mr. Darcy by Tiffany Schmidt

This book seems so fun and cute! I know there is another book with Laurie from Little Women, but I want to read this book first. I love Pride & Prejudice which is why I wanted to read this in the first place.  The story seems cute and I can't wait to meet the characters.

9- Anna K by Jenny Lee

This is a release coming out in March and I can't wait to get it. I've never read the original source material,  but this seems right up my alley and that it was made for me.  I can't wait to meet Anna and follow her story.

10- House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City # 1) by Sarah J. Maas

A few years ago, I binged the  A Court of Thorns and Roses series and I fell in love with YA Fantasy.  I can't wait to read her newest release in March and see what her Adult Fantasy is like. Also, this could be way into Adult Fantasy.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday-- Favorite Places to read

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme Jana hosts @ thatartsyreadergirl This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will post our list as a reply. We also have the option of going rogue, and posting a topic of our own choosing or a past topic. This week out topic is favorite places to read.   1- At my desk   I read a lot in my room and at my desk. I’m trying to find another method because I tend to stop reading and look at a notification that distracts me. I enjoy reading at my desk because it’s easy.  2- In bed I need to be wide awake to read in bed, but I might start doing it more. Reading in bed is less distracting for me, but it still can make me tired. 3- In the car Some weeks I spend a lot of time in the car. When I’m in the the car I’ll try to read a chapter or two, but it sends up being more like 3-4 depending on how long the car ride is.
