Top Ten Tuesday -Books I would save in the event of Alien Abduction (or other natural disaster)

Hello! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. This meme brings the book blogging community together and gives us a reason to make a list every week. This week, the prompt was books with color in a title, but I haven't read many of those. I picked this prompt because I thought it was fun, and I wasn't a book blogger when it was first posted. For the sake of this post, I am using books that I own either in paperback or hardcover.

1-Fangirl

Listen, if you know me, or if you've followed this blog, you know why I need to bring my favorite YA book with me. While this list is in no order, I would probably grab this book first.

2- Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles # 1)

This has easily become one of my favorite series, and I only started reading them late last year. I love the world and the characters, and if I didn't take this and Cress, I would miss them, and then regret not grabbing them.

3-Cress (The Lunar Chronicles # 3)

See above

4- Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

This is another YA novel I consider one of my faves! I read it in 2018, and I fell so hard for this book and the characters. Again, I would miss them if I didn't grab this.

5- Jane Austen- Four Classic Novels

If I didn't grab one classic, I would feel incomplete. I don't read a ton of classics, but I do enjoy them from time and time.  Also four books, so it would take me a while to read. Pride & Prejudice is one of my favorite classics.

6- Red, White and Royal Blue

I loved this NA book and I would need to bring it with me.

7- Foolish Hearts

I was in a bit of reading slump a few years ago, and this book pulled me right out of it. I remember I was so into this book I didn't hear people talking to me. One day, my parents and I were in the car, and they asked me a question several times.

8-A Court of Mist and Fury

I love A Court of Thorns and Roses, but this is my favorite book in the series so far. I can't explain it, but this was the most action-packed for me.

9-Tash Hearts Tolstoy

Another YA book that I love and I don't think it gets talked about all that much. I loved it so much.

10- The Untold Stories of Broadway

I've had this book for about five years and I still haven't read it. Yes, I know how bad that sounds. Anyway, this book is the only book I have that's signed because I met the author at Broadway Con. I want to read it this year! Also, it's Theatre themed, and you guys all know me, you knew I was going to save a theatre-related book.

Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

Top Ten Tuesday-- Favorite Places to read

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme Jana hosts @ thatartsyreadergirl This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will post our list as a reply. We also have the option of going rogue, and posting a topic of our own choosing or a past topic. This week out topic is favorite places to read.   1- At my desk   I read a lot in my room and at my desk. I’m trying to find another method because I tend to stop reading and look at a notification that distracts me. I enjoy reading at my desk because it’s easy.  2- In bed I need to be wide awake to read in bed, but I might start doing it more. Reading in bed is less distracting for me, but it still can make me tired. 3- In the car Some weeks I spend a lot of time in the car. When I’m in the the car I’ll try to read a chapter or two, but it sends up being more like 3-4 depending on how long the car ride is.
