Can't Wait Wednesday

Welcome back! Can't Wait Wednesday is a meme hosted by Tressa at Wishfulendings. This is a re-branding of Waiting On Wednesday which was hosted by Jill at  breakingthespine. The purpose of this meme is  to discuss books we're excited about. These books have not been released yet, but I will expand this to books on my TBR  which I would like to read.

This week I would like to highlight Love From A to Z by S.K. Ali.

Information from Goodreads

Expected Publication Date

April 30, 2019 from Simon & Schuster

Summary

marvel: something you find amazing. Even ordinary-amazing. Like potatoes—because they make French fries happen. Like the perfect fries Adam and his mom used to make together.

An oddity: whatever gives you pause. Like the fact that there are hateful people in the world. Like Zayneb’s teacher, who won’t stop reminding the class how “bad” Muslims are.

But Zayneb, the only Muslim in class, isn’t bad. She’s angry.

When she gets suspended for confronting her teacher, and he begins investigating her activist friends, Zayneb heads to her aunt’s house in Doha, Qatar, for an early start to spring break.

Fueled by the guilt of getting her friends in trouble, she resolves to try out a newer, “nicer” version of herself in a place where no one knows her.

Then her path crosses with Adam’s.

Since he got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in November, Adam’s stopped going to classes, intent, instead, on perfecting the making of things. Intent on keeping the memory of his mom alive for his little sister.

Adam’s also intent on keeping his diagnosis a secret from his grieving father.

Alone, Adam and Zayneb are playing roles for others, keeping their real thoughts locked away in their journals.

Until a marvel and an oddity occurs…

Marvel: Adam and Zayneb meeting.

Oddity: Adam and Zayneb meeting

Why I'm excited

This book just looks so cute. I love the vibes that the description gives off and I can't wait to read about Adam and Zayneb. The fact that this book has a unique take of the traditional love story with the letters of the alphabet is another reason this book is on my list. I see this book causing a lot of feels for me, and I am so ready.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

Top Ten Tuesday-- Favorite Places to read

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme Jana hosts @ thatartsyreadergirl This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will post our list as a reply. We also have the option of going rogue, and posting a topic of our own choosing or a past topic. This week out topic is favorite places to read.   1- At my desk   I read a lot in my room and at my desk. I’m trying to find another method because I tend to stop reading and look at a notification that distracts me. I enjoy reading at my desk because it’s easy.  2- In bed I need to be wide awake to read in bed, but I might start doing it more. Reading in bed is less distracting for me, but it still can make me tired. 3- In the car Some weeks I spend a lot of time in the car. When I’m in the the car I’ll try to read a chapter or two, but it sends up being more like 3-4 depending on how long the car ride is.
