Top Ten Tuesdays- characters I would follow on Social Media

Hello! Tuesday is one of my favorite memes of the week, and Top Ten Tuesday is here again! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by  Jana @ . thatartsyreadergirl.  The meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, our topic was Characters I would want to follow on Social Media, a topic suggested by  Tilly @thebiblioshelf.  I had a lot of fun thinking of characters for this post. 1- Cath Avery from Fangirl- Twitter and YouTube Can you all imagine Cath's twitter feed? I need it because I need the bookish tweets and her talking about her writing process. I feel her feed would also have tweets about culture as well and I need to see them. Cath's vlog in my head would be talking about book reviews and another platform to talk about her writing. I feel Cath might be a little too introverted for YouTube, but I can dream, right? 2- Simon from Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda- Twitter and YouTube I need Simon, and his theater

Top Ten Tuesday- 5 musical theatre and 5 bookish couples I love

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. This weekly meme is hosted by  Jana @thatartsyreadergirl  and it was brought  together out of a love of list and bringing the book blogging community together. This week is a love freebie and because I always love weaving my love of musicals into other posts on here. The Musical couples  1- Maria and Tony from West Side Story This is a classic musical theater couple from one of my favorite movies. Their  plot is inspired  by Romeo and Juliet, and they're very sweet.    2- Alyssa Green and Emma Nolan from The Prom The Prom is a more recent musical, I've not seen it yet, but I love them a lot. Throughout the story, they go through trials and tribulations, but as a couple, they come out better and get their happy ending. 3- Elphaba and Fiyero  from Wicked I've seen Wicked more times than I can count, but it's at least over 5. Anyway, Fiyero might not be the best guy when we first meet him, but he cares about El

Beetlejuice: The Musical! The Musical! The Musical! Review.

Overall (no spoilers) I might have mentioned this on the blog before, I can’t remember if I did a post talking about gifts from the Holidays. If not, I will do one because I want to do a roundup, anyway. My Christmas gift from my sister so the family was tickets to Beetlejuice: The Musical! The Musical! The Musical!  The show will close on June 6 th , 2020, at the Winter Garden Theatre. If you can see the show before it closes, I would definitely recommend the musical, even if you’re not a big theatre person. Read on to see my thoughts on the production. Iconic moments (spoilers ahead!) Doing a list because it’s an easier way Adam and Barbara doing the conga line down the stairs during Day-O. “Dear Mr. Striped Ghost Man give me back my daughter. “ -Charles.   Adam and Barbara’s movement on Kombucha in Barbara 2.0. “Mr. Juice, welcome to the family.”-Charles. “You all don’t seem like the orgy kind of  people. Except for her, she’s done some stuff.” - Beetl

Top Ten Tuesday- I see stars

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . The weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, our topic is books on our TBR that  we think will be 5 star reads. In 2020, I have been harsher with my ratings, giving some 4 star and some 5star ratings. The title comes from the last song on the Mean Girls cast recording because I couldn't waste the opportunity to use the reference.    1- The Untold Stories of Broadway by Jennifer Ashley Tepper This is a Non-Fiction book I've had on my TBR forever, and I will use it as a prompt for my big card this year. My book is signed  because I met the author at Broadwaycon a few years ago. The book is about unknown facts or a history of a theatre by a theater historian and I can't wait to read it. 2- Lucky Caller by Emma Mills I don't have a copy of this yet, but this is a new release from an author I loved in 2019.  Emma Mills writes YA with

January Wrap up!

It's a new month, so I thought I should wrap up the books I read, or finished in the first month of 2020! Number of books completed 4/40 (10% done) 1 book ahead of schedule . Leftover from December  Cinder by Marissa Meyer   ***** (  5 stars) Read from 12/29 /19-01/15/2020 I loved this series starter so much and I can't believe it took me this long to read this book. I love the characters in the story, and I love the world. A review will come soon. Marvel: Powers of a Girl by Lorraine Click with art by Alice X. Zhang **** ( 4 stars) Read from 12/20 /19-01/16/2020 This was a gift as part of Secret Santa and it was very good. I loved reading about all the characters in the Marvel Universe. The biggest issue for me was some characters had large 3 or 4 pages with information, and others just had a small section in a group. I thought it could have been more balanced. Also, I thought we could have seen more characters represented. First books of 2020 Lib

February TBR!

Hi! It's a few days into the month, but I have been planning my TBR for a while now. I have a few pre -orders out tomorrow, and they are already on their way so I will use my Ebooks for the Beat the Backlist Challenge.   For Beat The Backlist One Word Title- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (96% done) - I'm almost done this book, I loved it so much and I can't wait to continue the story.  I will finish this today as I couldn't finish it in time for January. Genre Mash-Up- It's A Whole Spiel by various authors (10% done)-  this is an anthology where all the stories revolve around characters of the Jewish faith. I read the first story  and it was fantastic. I wanted to read it last year, but I never got around to getting a copy.    Own Voices- Don't Call Me Crazy by various authors - I've had this for a while now and I keep meaning to read it. This is a Non-Fiction anthology where authors open up about mental health. I feel this will be a heavy book, b
