May Wrap Up!

Hello! It's the end of the month  so it's time for another wrap up! Despite being extra busy I still managed to read 2 books, finish 3 books from March and April, and start 2 new books! I want to talk about the books as they come up on the list. Favorite Read- Romanov Books Read this month The Prince and The Dressmaker by Jen Wang Rating- 5 stars Format- Ebook Read from-  May 12th- May 17th Favorite Character- Frances This was a buddy read for a task in the Group Challenge I'm in on Goodreads. It was a ton of fun and I loved the story. If you want a story that talks about identity and acceptance this Graphic Novel is great. Also, it features a cute friendship that I couldn't get enough of. Romanov Rating- 5 stars Format- Us Hardback Read from- 5/7-5/26 Romanov by Nadine Brandes Favorite character- Nastya I had been anticipating this book since I heard about it. This book didn't disappoint, and I loved the story from beginning to th

Top 5 Wednesday- Mental Health

Hello! This is another late post, but I wanted to out this put up as well . This meme is from  This Goodreads Group . I have not read a ton about Mental Health, but I found five. 1- Turtles All  the Way Down by John Green Rep- OCD This is my favorite John Green Novel! I felt the representation of OCD presented in this was excellent, but I don't know if it's positive or not as I don't suffer from OCD myself. How OCD is woven into this book helped me see Aza as in a new light because I saw what she went through. 2- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell Rep- Anxiety Yeah yeah I'll make this quick. Cath's Anxiety is all over this book and I personally felt this was a great way to show how anxiety can affect someone.  3-  Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia Rep- Anxiety This was another book where anxiety was  represented by the main character Eliza. As with the previous book, I felt this was a great way to show the effects of Anxiety on a person. 4- D

Top 5 Tuesday Summer Reads

Hello! I know this post is two days late, but I really wanted to get it up even if it was late. Our host for this meme is Shanah  @bionicbookworm . I have fun with this meme so I thought I would post this today. In the summer I read whatever I want usually, but I enjoy keeping it light as the weather is warmer. 1- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell I needed to put my favorite YA Contemporary  on the list. I discuss this book a lot, but I really love it and I think it is the perfect book for summer.  This light read about a woman named Cather Avery is about finding love and accepting yourself for who you are. The bonus for us readers is that Cath is a reader and a writer.  2- Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli I could have also out Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda here, but I wanted to highlight this one as I have highlighted the other one in the past. While I have opinions on this book, overall, I enjoyed it and I think it's the perfect read for the summer. As a bonus,

Top Ten Tuesday + 1 from 2019- Favorite Books of the last ten years (one book per year)

Welcome back! I am in a time crunch today but I still wanted to put this up. As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana at  @thatartsyreadergirl . Every Tuesday, book bloggers gather and make a list of books based on a prompt. Today's topic is Top Ten Favorite Books of the last ten years, one book per year. I know that I discuss most of these books a lot, so I'll be brief with most of these.  1- 2009 Catch Fire by Suzanne Collins This is the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy. The Hunger Games was my introduction to Dystopian  YA, and I am so thankful for this series. I enjoy both the book and the movie. 2- 2010 Mockingjay by Suzanne collins The final book in The Hunger Games Trilogy also needed to make this list for the reasons I started above. I thought this book was the perfect way to end the series.  3- 2011 The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern I loved this fantasy novel about a circus. This was a book that I read a few years after it came out.  I hadn

The problem is that she's still obsessed, which is way too nerdy for a popular kid like her. So she hides her geekiness with a set of rules meant to keep her geek and jock selves separate.   Except when she's offered a spot in a Nightshade fandom contest, where the winner gets to see the new movie premiere in LA. No one seems to think Sarah Anne can win, since she's up against a pair o

Top Ten Tuesday - books I won’t let anyone touch because I might never get them back or the edition

Hello! Today is Tuesday, so it is time once again for one of my favorite bookish memes Top Ten Tuesday! Our host is Jana at thatartsyreadergirl . This week the topic was Books I won't let anyone touch. I took this as books I won't let anyone touch because of the edition I own, or it's a favorite  that I fear I would not get back. 1- Mary Poppins I have not read this book yet but it's  on the tbr for next month. I have a nice Barnes and Noble illustrated edition. The cover is stunning and if someone touches the book, I fear I will not get the book back. 2- A Court of Mist and Fury This is the third book in A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I love this book and it is my favorite of the series so far. 3- Little House on the Prairie I read these as a kid and I loved them so much. My full edition is from Barnes and Nobel and it has pretty gold pages. Again, I fear that if someone touches this book I will not get it back. 4- A Little Prince

You know, the usual things yo

Top Five Wednesday - Favorite Sci Fi and Fantasy Friendships!

Hello! I enjoyed doing Top Five Wednesday last week, so I wanted to do it again today.  Check out the Goodreads group for topics. Today was Favorite Sci fi and Fantasy Friendships. I really needed to think about this one as I am new to both these genres. 1- Percy, Annabeth and Grover from  The Percy Jackson Series Are these fantasy? I needed a slot filled, and I wanted to include them. These series is just fantastic and I love these three and their banter. I read the first series and the first book in Heroes of Olympus. If you're looking for a fun middle grade fantasy check out this series.  2- The Golden Trio from Harry Potter No list would be complete without one of my favorite groups from my childhood. I love the dynamic that Harry, Ron, and Hermione have. These three have been thorough hell and back together and they have so much love for each other. 3-  The Inner Circle from A Court of Thorns and Roses series My book squad goals can be summed by saying I think

Top Five Tuesday Magical Creatures!

Top Five Tuesday  is hosted  by Shanah at bionicbookworm . The meme is where we talk about a prompt. 1- Fairies If I could be any magical creature, it would be a fairy. From the time  that  I was young I have loved them. 2- Mermaids I would also love to be a mermaid! Much like fairies I have loved them since I was a kid. I have not read many books with them but I have one on my tbr !  3- Unicorns I’ve always loved horses and Unicorns are magical horses! I feel you’re sensing the theme here that I have loved them from the time I was young. 4- Vampires I am not sure if this counts but I’ve seen them on a few lists this week. A confession for you all is that  I was obsessed  with The Twilight Saga as a teenager.  I’ve since read Dracula and Carmila (  the original novel not the new one that came out this month). Vampires have always been cool  to me .    5-  Thunderbirds  This is a creature from Harry Potter.  I picked it because my house was Thunderbird and I loved

I decided to to 10 books they have adapted which that I loved. 1- To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved Before Topping the list this week is this rom com I just adored. I read the first book, and I thought the movie was a perfect adaption. Sure, it missed some key topics but overall it pleased me. I can't wait for the second one! 2- The Hunger Games series I read The Huger Games and it was my introduction to YA Dystopian. These films were fantastic, and I felt it pleased any fan if you have read the books or not. Were they perfect? Not really as key elements were missing, but the premise was there. 3- Pride and Prejudice (2005) This is a perfect adaptation of the Jane Austen classic. I love  this and the period drama style. I watched

Determined to prove her worth as a writer, Bex drafts her own script and shares it with the head writer―who promptly reworks it and passes it of

Top Five Wednesday Mothers or Mother Figures in Literature

Hello! I found this meme from a few bloggers and I love it. If you would like to participate feel free to join the  Goodreads Group . In honor of Mother's Day this weekend the theme is Literary Mother's or Mother Figures.  This was tough as I don't read a lot of books with mothers in them. "Ask your heart to tell you her worth your heart will say heaven on earth. Another word for divine."- Your Mother And Mine from Peter Pan Junior. 1- Mrs. Darling from Peter Pan Mrs. Darling makes this list because she loves and supports her children. She will fight for them and protect them. 2- Leah's Mom from Leah on the Offbeat Leah's mother is a young single mother and I think this is what stands out most about her. She might be tough on Leah but I think that toughness is what Leah needs as it makes her a stronger character. She loves her daughter and wants what is best for her. 3- Astrid from The Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy I know  that she is not the

Top Five Tuesday- Books I want to reread

Top Five Tuesday is a weekly meme where we respond to a prompt. Our host is Shanah @bionicbookworm . This week it is books we want to reread. 1- Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee This was my favorite read in 2017 and I am long overdue for a reread. I will see about working it into my TBR for Pride month next month. I just want to get back into this story and reread it year after year in the summer. 2- After Anatevka by Alexandra Silber I plan on writing a Historical Fiction this year. Before I do, I want to reread one of my favorite Historical Fictions. This book doesn't have the greatest of settings, or time periods, but I love the characters in this book so much. I have discussed this book on the blog a lot, and I don't think that I will stop. 3- Comics Will Break Your Heart by Faith Erin Hicks My favorite read of 2019 so far, I haven't finished the book I started today, but this will definitely be on my top five or ten books in the year. What

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Summer of Love

As promised here is the second chapter of my Anastasia Summer Camp AU. I am working on chapter 3, and it should go up on AO3 on Friday.  Enjoy! Chapter 2 The Romanov sisters were almost at the Camp they could not contain their excitement. The girls would be away from their parents sure, but this was freedom that at least Anastasia had wanted. Anya would write home this summer, at least she had gotten the fancy stationery too, but she would tell her parents she would write once a week. “Anya, would you like to meet the love of your life this summer?” Maria was seated next to her younger sister, and she wanted to know what her sister was thinking about as she stared out the window. “Yes, Maria I would like to get a boyfriend this summer. I think I am ready to find the one. If not the one, I would at least like to find a guy who can be my first boyfriend this summer.” Anya was feisty and a free spirit but she was also a romantic. All of her life she had been dreaming on this
