Top Ten Tuesday books I want to reread

Hello! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a prompt, and we book bloggers come up with a list as a response to that prompt. We also have the option of going off the prompt completely.  This week the prompt is places in books I want to live. It’s been years snice I’ve read it. 2- The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennett I was in love with this YouTube series and I read this book. I enjoyed it so much, but it’s been years since I read it. I loved Lizzie in this book, and I want to reread it t

Top Ten Tuesday- favorite reads from the first quarter of the year!

Hi everyone! Welcome back! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by- Jana@thatartsyreadergirl . This is a weekly meme which was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we all will create a list as a response to that prompt. We also have the option to not follow the prompt and do our own thing. This week, the prompt is funny book titles, but I’ve been reading a lot this year. I wanted to do a top favorites list because I don’t know if I will talk about them again. Read on to see my top ten list! All of these books are 5 stars! January 1- You Have a Match by Emma Lord This was one of my anticipated releases, and I read it when it was released. I loved this story. It differed from Tweet Cute, which I enjoyed. The characters were great, and the plot was a mix of light and heavy topics.  2- King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo We love the Grisha Verse here!! Omg, this book was so good. I believe that Leigh Bardugo really hit her s

The book looked like a cute romcom, and I really love that genre. What I didn’t know was that this was a feminist retelling of the movie Weird Science, so I can’t speak on how accurate this book is to that movie. I decided to have a new review system, where I discuss what this book did to earn a star in the rating from me.  Plot I’m giving the plot of this book a star because it was different. The plot of the story follows two girls who make a bo

Top Ten Tuesday Spring TBR part 1 April

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Each week, Jana @thatartsyreadergirl  posts a prompt, and we all make a list based on that prompt, a similar prompt, or pick a topic of our own for the list. This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, we’re doing a spring cleaning freebie, and because I want to read over 10 books this spring, I decided to do this post this week, and talk about books I want to read in May and June before the summer next week. I’ll put them in sections because that’s easier to navigate.   April Pre Orders (Physical) 1- Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo (King of Scars # 2)   This is my first of four pre-orders I plan on starting when they get here. I’m so looking forward to this book after enjoying King of Scars last month. I’m also sad because this is the last book in the Grisha Verse. 2- Fearless (Fearless # 1) by Mandy Gonzalez I pre-ordered this book because it looked like a fun book.

Queer Icons and Their Cats- E Arc Review

Disclosure: I downloaded this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Title: Queer Icons and Their Cats Author: Alison and PJ Nastasi Genre: Non-Fiction, LGBTQ+ Page Count: 112   Edition Read: E Arc Expected Publication: May 4 th , 2021   Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/55340413-queer-icons-and-their-cats?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=L8higBIMXq&rank=2 Rating:4 stars Overview I found this on Edelweiss + a few months back. I enjoyed reading it and learning about the people discussed in the book. Being a lover of cats, I knew I would need to get a copy of this book, and I was so happy to see this on Read Now.   Writing The writing of this book reads just like any other Non-Fiction about a celebrity does. You get to know what the person did, and how they qualified to be featured in this book. Where this book went in a new direction was just as the title said, it talked about the relationship the person had with their cats. Read

Blogging Buddies- Guest Post!

Hi there, I am Chelle and I will be guest blogging today. I am a twenty-eight-year-old young woman who lives in a moderately sized market town in England. I suffer from multiple chronic pain conditions and mental health issues which is something that you need to know with what this blog post will be focussing on. I work part-time, volunteer for a youth group and my church (pre-pandemic). Around that I read, write, binge-watch tv online and scroll through social media or chat on Discord. This is where I met Steph, in a server for Books & Quills Magazine .  My blog post is going to focus on reading, as Steph has a lovely book-themed blog I thought it was right to do so. Though more particularly it is going to focus on reading and building a solid reading habit whilst contending with chronic health issues.  Dealing with health issues on a daily basis isn’t fun in the twelve years I have had to contend with them, most of them unmedicated and undiagnosed, I found relief in my books an

Top Ten Tuesday characters with hobbies/ interests/jobs I love

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl Each week Jana will post a topic, and we will make a list based on that prompt or one of our own liking. This meme was created out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, our topic is characters whose job I wish I had. I don’t read a ton of Adult novels, so this is an expansion of the topic, and including some YA!   Theatre You all know I love theatre and finding theater in stories brings me so much joy. Here are a few of my favorite YA books and characters that involve theatre.  1- Simon and Abby from The Simon Universe   2- Claudia, Gideon, Iris, and the rest of the cast from Foolish Hearts   3- Arthur from What if It’s Us    Music Music is another passion of mine, and the fact that Zoe also loves music makes me very happy. 4- Zoe from Dear Evan Hansen   Writing I’m a writer, so of course, I love writers in stories. Each one of these characters is
