End of the Year Book Tag: 2020!!!

Hi! I love filling this out at the end of every year. This year, I grabbed the questions from t his post . This is a way for us book bloggers to talk about the books we loved this year.  Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish? No, I don't think I will finish any more books before the end of the year. Maybe Manga Classics: Jane Eyre before the end-of-year. I have other books I have started, but I'm not sure that I will finish them before the end of the year.  Do you have a book or autumnal book to transition into the end of the year? No, I'm not one of those that read books based on the season. This year, I changed things up this year, and I read three seasonal reads. I really enjoyed them, and I might make rereading them a yearly thing now.  Is there a new release you’re still waiting for? No, It's late in the year, so I don't have any new releases coming out before the end of the year. I got The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo, and I m

Manga Classics: Sense & Sensibility Review

If you're a fan of Jane Austen, I think you should pick this book up. If you love Manga or have always wanted to read one, I think you should consider picking this up. I am of both the first, being a fan of Jane Austen, and the second, always wanting to try a Manga, but never knowing where to start. This book has been sitting in my books since last year, if not before that. My reason for starting it and finishing it now was the Net Galley Book Shelf app, I remembered about it, and it piqued my interest when I saw it there. Before I go any further, I feel it needs to be said that I have never read this story before. This was my introduction to the characters and the plot of Sense & Sensibility.  Plot The plot of this story is juicy, and I feel it comes across in the Manga. From the first chapter, the plot intrigued me, and I wanted to know more. I feel like that was what this me all throughout the book, wanting to know more, and know where the plot was going to go next. Just be

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I know enough

Top Ten Tuesday- Pet names taken from books

I prefer cats, so all these are names I think would work for a cat. 1- Annabeth from The Percy Jackson series and other books   Annabeth is one of my favorite characters from all the series she appears in. From the time I met her in The Lightning Thief, I enjoyed how bold she was, and how she took no prisoners. 2- Eurydice from Never Look Back and Greek Mythology I’m currently reading Never Look Back, and I’m very much enjoying the character of Eurydice in the novel. As a fan of Greek myth, and the musical Hadestown, I knew that Eurydice would need to appear in this post. I’ve enjoyed her as a character since I met

In the Queue Where it Happens

Hello! It's been a few weeks, but I have things to talk about now. This is my post about other media not related to books that I do every other Friday. Yes, the title of this post comes from the musical Hamilton.  Tv and Movies I've actually been watching a few things lately, and I'm thrilled about that fact. I'm working my way through season 4 of One Day At A Time when CBS airs them on Mondays. I'm very much enjoying it, and I love all the characters. My next Netflix show will probably be Emily in Paris, or Julie and the Phantoms. Now that The Owl House is on Disney Plus, I will start that today. If I have time, I  will start season 1 of The Mandalorian as well. Also on Disney Plus, I have added High School Musical: The Musical: The Series; I need to get back to that as I was very much enjoying the show. I have to say; I believe as far as streaming services go; I prefer Disney Plus over Netflix because it's more the content I want.    As far as movies go, I w

Top Ten Tuesday--Books/ series I read/ am reading because they were recommend to me

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by  Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was made out of a love of lists and bringing us book bloggers together. Each week, Jana will post a prompt, and we the bloggers will make a post based on that prompt, or not. This week is books I've read based on recommendations from others.  1- The Grisha Universe by Leigh Bardugo (Good reads/ General Hype) I started The Grisha Universe in December 2019, and I have since moved onto Six of Crows. I enjoy this world, these characters, and this writing so much, and I can’t wait to continue. In The Queue Where it Happens

Hi! I know I've been a little busy this week, but I wanted to do the post I do on media not related to books today.   Movies and TV I truly can't remember the last movie and I watched, and that's sad because I do like watching movies. I believe the last one was Halloween Town at the beginning of the month. As I type this, I am watching One Day at a Time, and this is the most recent TV show I've watched when I'm not watching a cooking show on The Food Network. I feel like this a good show to enjoy as I'm working on other stuff, maybe not while I'm reading, but for writing blog posts, and writing things for novels, this show is perfect. I never watched the older show, but I was so enthralled by the new show from the first few episodes. I love this show and the dynamic, also, I love that CBS is airing season 4 on the major network because I never saw those, and Netflix removed the show. Currently, I am on episode 3x06.    Once this is done, I will move onto J
