2020 reading and blogging goals!

Hi! I know it's been a crazy few weeks for everyone, including me, so that's why it's been so silent here on the blog. This is the time of year when everyone posts their reading, and blogging goals for the new year, as a way  to move forward and grow their blogging community. I will discuss my goals for the year, as I have been pondering them a lot over the last few days. I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday season, and I can't wait to see what the upcoming year brings. Reading Related Goodreads challenge As always, I will do a Goodreads challenge. This goal is simple, as all you need to do is read, and count the book towards your goal. Once I finish Fairest of All, probably tomorrow, if not definitely Tuesday, I will have finished 40 books this year. That is lower than some years, yet higher than in previous years. My Goodreads goal for 2020 will be 40 books, with the opportunity to raise it. This year, I finished my Goodreads goal in August, hit a bit of

Top Ten Tuesday- Winter TBR

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted  by  Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . The meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing bloggers together.  This week the prompt is Winter TBR, and I deiced to include books I'm also reading at the moment.   1- The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork Pg 144/375. This is such a sweet story, and I love it so much. I was promised A Nutcracker retelling, and that is just what this book is.  2- The Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingles pg 32/618. I am enjoying this Non-Fiction story so far. When I was a kid, I read these books illustrated, with some of the plots taken out. This is such a wintery book.   3- Fairest of All by Serena Valentino 50% done I love this retelling of Snow White so far. The story might take a turn soon, and I'm looking forward to seeing what direction it takes.  4- The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo 8% done. Finally, I'm reading this book this trilogy and

Top Ten Tuesday - Favorite characters of 2019

Welcome back! I got busy last week, so I couldn't post TTT. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, we make a post based on the prompt this week, and it was built on a love of books and lists. This week's prompt was a Freebie, so I decided to do my top ten characters in 2019.   1- Miriam from Comics Will Break Your Heart by Faith Erin Hicks You have all heard me talk about this book all year long. I had to give Miriam the first slot in this list, because she was so much fun, and she was so sweet. I really  related to her because, for a lot of the book, she was struggling with her life after graduation, and what she wanted to do with her life. Honestly, this was what drew me to love her character, because while I have seen a plot like this, I have not seen it portrayed as well as in this plot. The B plot was the romance with Weldon, and the two of them were sweet. Miriam was also an introvert,  this was another reason I related to

Bookending Winter post # 1- End of the Year Book Survey!!!

Hello! My week got a little crazy, but I'll talk about that in an update post. I wanted to do something today, and when I found this Books Survey, it was perfect for my first post for Bookending Winter. I copied the questions from  Here . The Original creator is    Jamie (The Perpetual Page Turner).  Let's get started  Reading Stats Number Of Books You Read : 38 with Four on Deck (As of 12/6/19) Number of Re-Reads:  3 Fangirl, Carry on By Rainbow Rowell, and The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan  Genre You Read The Most From:  Contemporary  Best in Books 1. Best Book You Read In 2019? Best Book? Well, I have a lot of opinions on the books I've read this year. Best is a strong word, but I have to say The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This was my first book by  her, and I adored it.  2. B ook You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t? A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs. I had enjoyed the rest of the series

November Wrap Up and December TBR- Holiday books with a dash of fantasy

Hello! I just wanted to get a quick post up to wrap up my month in reading and talk about what books I'm reading this month. I know these are usually two separate posts, but I wanted to join them as they're relatively short. November Books read start to finish 1 Sounds Like Me My Life (So Far) in Song by Sara Bareilles Read from 11/16 -11/29 Rating *****(5 stars) I loved this book of personal Essays and getting to know more about Sara. Books continued  and completed  3 Hello Girls by Brittany Cavallaro and Emily Henry Read from 8/6 /-11/30 Rating ***** (5 Stars) It took me a few months to read this but ok because I was busy and couldn’t read it every day. I loved Winona and Lucile. I was rooting for them as they had their difficulties in this story. I’m not one to read co -authored books, but this one was so fun and so seem less. I don’t want to spoil the book, but I loved the ending chapters a lot.  The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus # 1) By Rick Riordan

Top Ten (Eight) Tuesday!

Welcome Back! I have missed doing Top Ten Tuesdays over the last few weeks. Jana @ thatartsyredergirl hosts top Ten Tuesdays and every week we join to talk about books based on the prompt. The prompt for this week is changes, and I wanted to take this as changes I’ve made since I’ve rebranded as a book blogger.  Enjoy! 1- Genres I never thought I would read Before I was a book blogger, I would have never been one to open a book of the fantasy or a book of the Science-Fiction genre. The books that changed this were A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, I followed the hype train, and I’m very glad I did. This series is one that I love and adore and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here. A new trilogy I started in 2019 was The Folk of Air Trilogy by Holly Black. Heart of Iron and Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston are in the Sci-Fi genre, and I loved those books so much. What drew me to those, in particular, was the fact that the story was Anastasia

Top Ten Tuesday- Book characters linked to Halloween candy!!

Welcome Back! I know I’ve been saying that I will be back and blogging more. Life happened last week, I had an appointment last week, and I just got lazy after that. I’m planning to be back more this week and get posting again this week. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl .  This was born out of a love of lists and bringing the bookish community together. This week is a Halloween Freebie. I’m not into the horror or mystery genres. I wanted to do my top 8 Halloween candies and pick a character that reminds me of them. 1- Chocolate Rhys from A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas because he is smooth. This was a no brainier for me. Rhys is smooth, and he always knows what to say. He is charming and flirtatious so he was reminds me of chocolate no question. 2- Reese’s cups Claudia from Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills because she is sweet but has the determination to get what she wants. I read this book earlier this year a
