Top Ten Tuesday-Why I love YA Contemporary and Hisroical Fiction

Hello! Welcome back! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme brings the book blogging community together and fosters our love of lists. Each week Jana will post a prompt, and we make a post based on that or do our own thing. This week our prompt is reasons I love X, and I wanted to do a post talking about my two go two genres.  YA Contemporary Fiction 1- The Plots I am drawn to a YA book because of the plot. I know that sounds clique and basic but I just don't like the stories in the adult genres. I prefer the YA plots because they seem to be more focused on the details, but they also move the plot along better. The few books I've read in the Adult or the NA genre are focused on the details but don't move the plots along as well. YA plots are a journey of ups and downs, and I love that about stories in this genre.    2- The Characters  As an adult, I love reading about characters in the teenage range because they remind...

Top Ten Tuesday- Books on my TBR I'm surprised I've not read yet

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is one of my favorite posts to write, so I wanted it to be my first official post back. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl.  and this is a weekly meme that brings the book blogging community together and fosters our love of lists. This week the topic is supposed to be Books I DNFEd or Abandoned. I don't really DNF or abandon books, so I went through and picked my take on Books I'm surprised I've never read. Books on my TBR I can’t believe I haven’t read yet 1- A Little Princess I have a fancy edition of this book from B&N. I just got distracted by other books, but I do have a prompt in mind for my Beat the Backlist challenge. I really am looking forward to the story, I just need to work it into my tbr.  2- The Secret Garden I know this is the same author as A Little Princess. My plan for this is to read it the month after I read A Little Princess. I'm familiar with the story, being a fan of the musical, ...

May TBR aka Currently Reading

Hi! I know that I haven't posted in a few weeks. The reason for that was that I wasn't reading as much as I should have been, so I was just not motivated to write a blog post. I'm back, and I can't wait to get back into blogging, and connecting with you all again. I've finished a few books recently, so I wanted to do an update on what I'm currently reading. RC denotes Reading Cycle. RC Day 1 Anna K: A Love Story by Jenny Lee 64% done I'm going to be honest, this book takes a while to get into the plot. I've missed this world and these characters. I love Cress so much. Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert 26% done This is a hyped book and I can see why. This is not my usual genre but I love it. RC Day 2 House of Earth and Blood ...
