Top Ten Tuesday- Book with theater elements or theater books I've loved

 




Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @thatartsyreadergirl. This meme was brought about by our love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a prompt and we readers and bloggers will respond. We also have the option to go rogue and do our own thing. This week was a freebie, and in honor of Broadway coming back this month, and The Tony Awards the other night, I wanted to theme my list to that. For those that might not know, one of my other passions in life is Broadway Musicals, so this theme is very on-brand for me. I put the books by genre. 


Non-Fiction 

1- Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin Manuel Miranda and others 

2- The Great Comet of 1812: The Journey of a New Musical to Broadway


These are two coffee table books I loved. 


Middle Grade

3- Fearless (Fearless Series Book 1) by Mandy Gonzalez

4- The Chance to Fly by Ali Stroker and Stacy Davidowitz

I read these both this year and I loved them so much. I'm actually rereading Fearless next month for the spooky season. 


Young Adult 

5- Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

6- Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

7- Kate in Waiting by Becky Albertalli

8- What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

I loved all of these so much. 

Adult

9- All's Well by Mona Awad 

I read it earlier this year and I just loved it, 

To Read


10- The Dear Evan Hansen Coffee-Table Book

I want to read this to find out more about the show. I do have an issue with the show, but I just love the music, and most of the plot, as well as what it did for people with mental illness. I have not seen the movie yet, but I want to.

    This is such a clever idea for TTT! I will have to make a note somewhere. Will also take a look at some of your books listed, as an ex theatre girl myself, I am always looking for books with theatre settings. I have actually just started with a new book yesterday with a nice Moulin Rouge type of theme. It's an ARC and I think it's going to be great!

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Top Ten Tuesday - Unpopular Bookish opinions

Welcome Back! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by  thatartsyreadergirl . This week the top is unpopular bookish opinions, was submitted by Kaitlin Galvan at  somehowimanageablog . I don't think I have that many unpopular opinions, but We'll see if I can get to ten. I do not mean this to be a personal attack. I know some of these will get into beloved areas of book community, so take these as just my opinions. 1- I have only read one Harry Potter book, and will probably never read the rest. Yes, I know how odd this makes me sound. I was a Twilight kid, and I preferred those over Harry Potter. I have see all the movies, and I want to read Fantastic Beast, as I believe I will love that world and those characters more. 2- I hate mystery and horror novels.
