Sunday In The Park With George (2017 revival) review

Sunday In The Park with Geroge was revied in 2016 I believe, but the cast recording came out recently. It stared Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford as George and Dot/Marie respectively. This was the first time I had heard the full show.

I really like the opening! I really feel like it sets the tone well. I should say that I don't really know this show all that well.

I love Sunday In The Park With George and the way that Annaleigh sings it! Annaleigh's vibrato though!Ok, so that fast section at the end? I love it so much.

No Life: I really like it, not as much as the first two songs, but I do enjoy it. The singers sing it really well!

'Color and Light: wow it's not even over yet and it's already my favorite song so far.Wow, Jake sings really well on this song.

The Gossip song was good omg! I really like The Dog Song as well.

The Day Off: I love this song because it includes the ensemble! Also, I love the harmonies.I think the bit at the end of The Day Off sums up the show really well.

Everybody Loves Louie: in case it wasn't already clear that I love Annaleigh, she slays this song.

Finishing The Hat: the most famous song from this show I would say. Jake is very impressive on this song imparticular.I love Jake's tone and his vibrato on this song!

The amount of emotion in We Do Not Belong Together my goodness.

Beautiful: The song between Geroge and his mother I'm assuming I just love it so much! This song, in particular, has some really nice harmonies.

Sunday: Wow the harmonies and the ensemble on this song though!!!

It's Hot Up Here: it's like you're inside of the model's heads, and I love it so much! Also, bless a song that really features the ensemble!

I loved the little song between Too Hot Up Here and Putting It Together.

Putting It Together: it seems that the ensemble is featured more in the second act, and I love it so much.Jake is so good in the patter section of this song!

Children And Art: I really loved this song! I feel that Annaleigh sang it so well.

Lesson #8: I feel like this is Goerge's real epiphany song, and wow does Jake sing the song well!

Move On: this is the song that I was waiting for, and it did not disappoint! The harmonies on this song, and the way that Jake and Annaleigh sing this song though!

Sunday (Finale) I have the feels and I am emotional.

Final thoughts: 10/10 would listen to this cast recording. I will definitely be keeping it on my iPod. This was such a beautifully written show, and it was executed so well!

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday books/ series I would recommend to someone who says don’t like to read.

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a topic, and we will all make a list based on that topic. This week, the topic is Books Written Before I Was Born ( These can be books you’ve read or want to read! ) ( submitted by Davida Chazan @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog ). I wasn’t feeling this, and so I went through and found a post from The Broke & the Bookish, and I did that. The original post can  be found here . I thought I would recommend some books from some of my favorite genres.   The Classics 1- Pride & Prejudice This is one of my favorite classics, and when making my list this week, I knew I needed to include it. The reason is that I think this is one of the best books by Jane Austen, and we use the story in a lot of modern media. 2- To Kill A Mocking Bird I was so surprised by how much...

Top Ten Tuesday- Fall TBR

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was made to foster our love of lists and bring the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a list, and we readers will write a response. We also have the option of doing our own thing. This week our topic is fall tbr. I’m a mood reader, and I help out with a game and take part in a game every month. Every time you see a game prompt means that I will try to find a book on my shelves once I find out what the prompts will be. I’m going to reserve two books a month for games. I plan on reading more than what is listed here. This is just a small taste of what I hope to read.   September 1- On the Come Up by Angie Thomas (57%) done–I left my Ipad down the shore, luckily my mom and sister found It and they have it. I am enjoying this book. I’m not sure if I will be able to finish this by the end of this month, but I wanted to put it here anyway. 2- Barakah Beats by Maleeha Siddiqui (10% d...
