Summary

Set in 1595, the story follows the Bottom Brothers as they are trying to compete with the playwright William Shakespeare.

Act 1

The show opens with The Minstrel who introduces us to our two leads Nick and Nigel Bottom who run a theatre troupe. After the troupe loses their funding Nick and Nigel find Shylock on the way, Shylock would like to help the troupe by giving them money. After taking the money box Nick goes to find a soothsayer named Thomas Nostradamus, upon asking what the next big in theater will be he says a musical. Later when Nick and Nigel meet Brother Jeremiah and his daughter Portia she and Nigel fall in love. At the after party, Shakespeare is trying to read some of Nigel's ideas found in his notebook when Nick and Shylock and says that Shakespeare was trying to steal his brother's ideas. Nick goes back to Nostradamus and asks what Shakespeare's next big play will be, he sees "Hamlet" but misreads it as "Omelet"

Act 2

The act starts with the Minstrel telling the audience about the stresses that the Bottom Brothers and Shakespeare are facing. A spy tells Shakespeare that the Bottom brothers are out to steal his upcoming hit. Shakespeare disguising himself as Toby Belch auditions for the brother's troupe to steal the play. Worried about their future together, Nigel sneaks out to meet Portia at the London Bridge where he reads her the poem he has written about her. Thinking Omelette will not work, and mourning the loss of his love, Nigel writes a play that ends up being "Hamlet." The next day, Nigel goes back and shows Nick his improvements, as the two argue Shakespeare gets his play back.  The number Make An Omellete has references to many modern musicals. While Shylock, Nick, Nigel, and Nostradamus are on trial, Nick's wife Bea enters as a lawyer, and Nick confesses he stole their money box. At the end of the musical,  most of the characters end up in America, and Nick hears about Shakespeare's new play Hamlet.

Characters

Nick- He's not my favorite character in the show, but he is very much needed for the benefit of the story. He's not a bad character, he is just not my favorite character.

Nigel- I love him so much. He is such a sweet good hearted character.

Bea- She is not in the show all that much, but when is she has funny lines and one of the best songs in the musical in my opinion.

Portia- She is so sweet and good-hearted just like Nigel. She also stood up to her father which I have to give her bonus points for.

William Shakespeare- he is such a fun character. He has some of the funniest lines and the best songs in the show.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday books/ series I would recommend to someone who says don’t like to read.

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a topic, and we will all make a list based on that topic. This week, the topic is Books Written Before I Was Born ( These can be books you’ve read or want to read! ) ( submitted by Davida Chazan @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog ). I wasn’t feeling this, and so I went through and found a post from The Broke & the Bookish, and I did that. The original post can  be found here . I thought I would recommend some books from some of my favorite genres.   The Classics 1- Pride & Prejudice This is one of my favorite classics, and when making my list this week, I knew I needed to include it. The reason is that I think this is one of the best books by Jane Austen, and we use the story in a lot of modern media. 2- To Kill A Mocking Bird I was so surprised by how much...
