August Wrap Up and September TBR

Hi!

August was not a great reading month for me. I still wanted to post this update so you guys can see what I'm in the middle of. I want to review the two books I read in August one will hopefully be up this week.

Books Finished

The Wall of Nova by Corrin A Hester

Rating 5 stars.

Read from July 31st-August 19th

I read this because a friend said the author was looking to get buzz about the book. I really enjoyed the story, but there are trigger warnings. I will discuss them when I do my review but over all, I really enjoyed this story.

Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

Rating 5 stars

Read from August 13th- August 30th

It has been a while since I flew through a book as fast I flew through Foolish Hearts. I wasn't even reading the book every day but this book is that good. My favorite character was Claudia and this was my favorite read of the month. I want to do a full review but this was my first Emma Mills book and she is a fantastic write I can see why so many book bloggers read her.

Currently in the middle of  reading

Soul of Stars (Heart of Iron # 2) by Ashley Poston 62% done

This is the final book in this duology and I think I'm trying to extend it out as much as I can. I want to finish this book soon but also I want to stay in the story for as long as possible. This book is fantastic so far and I love the story.

Carry On Simon (Simon Snow # 1) 36% done

I started this in the beginning of August. This is a reread for me but I'm enjoy the story more the second time. Once this is done depending on the day, I will go right into Wayward Son. I love Baz and Simon.

Hello Girls by Brittany Cavallaro and Emily Henry 25% done

I got this book around release day when it was a First Five and I knew I wanted to buy it so I went on Amazon within the hour. I'm enjoying this story and I love the two main characters Winona and Lucy. This story is fantastic and although the first protion of the book is tough, I'm at a fun part of the book now I think.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday –Favorite Couples (Valentine’s Day /Love Freebie)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl. . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. I love doing this meme because it gives me a chance to bond with other bloggers. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we bloggers will make a post with our list on the topic, or a different one. This week it was Valentines / Love, so I wanted to do a post on favorite couples. I may have done a similar post last year, but I know that there are some new couples on this list.  1- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy- Pride & Prejudice   This is the only classic couple on this list. I enjoy their relationship because the two characters have little in common, and yet by the end of the novel, they make it work. As you read Pride & Prejudice, you get to see these two find the love each of them was missing. 2- Cath and Levi–Fangirl One of my favorite YA novels needed to appear on this list. I love Cath and Levi becau...

Top Ten Tuesday-Favorite online bookish resources for readers

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will make out lists based on that prompt. We also have the option of going rouge and doing our own thing. This week, our topic is Favor online bookish resources, which is bad for me, because I will add so many new accounts for sites that look interesting.   1- Goodreads I feel like every reader uses Goodreads. I love it for the reading challenges and finding reviews, but I should use the community aspect more.    2- Barnes and Noble I love using B&N for books because I love supporting bookstores. I use Amazon sometimes, but that's mostly for Ebooks I want or daily deals.    3- Likewise   This is an app that I enjoy using. You rate books and other media and it gives you recommendations. I love it beca...
