Top Ten Tuesday- Non Bookish Hobbies

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. Each week we get a prompt and make a blog post based on that. This week it's non-bookish hobbies.

1- Musical Theater

I’ve been doing Musical theater for years and it’s one of my passions in life. I’ve played ensemble and supporting roles in a variety of shows. I also enjoy talking about it for hours on end.

2- Writing

When I’m not writing on the blog I’m writing stories and fan fiction. I love writing as a creative outlet and I love watching my stories come to life. Currently, I’m at the start of my 7th National Novel Writing Month, but not consecutive. I write YA contemporary stories. My fanfic fandoms are small, but I do a lot of Anastasia and The Great Comet Fics. I want to get back into writing fics because I enjoyed the Beetlejuice and The Prom stories I had.

3- Singing

I’ve been singing for years in voice lessons, choirs, and shows. I trained as a soprano for years before I even started trying to belt. Mezzo is my comfort zone, but I do have a solid upper register and my lower notes are there just not as much.

4- Watching TV

I don’t watch a ton of TV anymore but I do love watching the holiday programming on the Food Network, and One Day At A Time. I have Netflix and Disney + so I watch a lot of stuff on those as well. I might get back into cable TV more if I had a show that drew my attention I’ll watch it.

5- Watching Movies

I love a good romantic comedy when it comes to movies. My other favorite genres are musicals and period dramas. I’m not one to watch a horror or a paranormal type of movie.

6- Playing games

I’m not a huge gamer but I love to play Hay Day, Among Us, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, and Jackbox. I’ll usually play games with friends, and from time to time, I will play Minecraft.

7- Social Media

I prefer to hang out on Discord and Tumblr. I know this might seem strange, but I’ve met some of my best friends on Discord, and even though we haven’t fully met yet, I really enjoy their company and talking to them.

8- Hanging out with people

I’m an introvert, but I still like talking to people in small groups. It’s mostly family and a small group of friends for me.

9- Watching Twitch streams

I love watching Twitch streams. My go-to streamers stream a variety of games, but they’re members of the Broadway community which is how I found out they were on Twitch. I’ll watch any games that aren’t really scary or gory.

10- Sleeping

My final hobby is sleeping. I know how bad that sounds, but when I can, I love taking naps during the day.

  4. I love watching TV and movies as well. I love writing but I didn't include it in my list this week. That's so cool that you're in musical theatre, it's one of my absolute favourite things and I'm so sad it's not really happening at the moment.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Historical

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Our Host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, readers gather and respond to the topic of  the week. This week, we are talking about Top Ten Books in our favorite genre. I love The Classics, YA of all kinds minus Horror and Mystery, and Historical. I choose Historical as I talk about Classics and YA a lot on this blog. These are in no order, just as they came to me. 1- Romanov  by Nadine Brandes I read this Anastasia retelling in nineteen days when it came out. I loved this book so much! About half the novel was the Romanov’s in exile, and their life in a house where they couldn’t do that much. As the story progresses, we see that Nastya is a spell master, so this is how Fantasy is sprinkled in with the Historical Fiction to tell a new story. I loved all aspects of this novel, even the ones that were sad, and almost caused me to throw this book across the room. I will review this book later on this month. I recommend this for any...
