Top Ten Tuesday

Hello! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesdays. This is a weekly question posted  by thatartsyreadergirl. The question this week is Top Ten Books I loved with fewer than 2,000 ratings on Good Reads. I have expanded this into reviews as posted next to the book.  I will talk about my feelings for each book. I used Good Reads for the information.

1- After Anatevka by Alexandra Silber 326 ratings  ·  91 reviews

 Published- July 4th, 2017

I loved this book so much! I loved Hodel and Perchik so much and I loved their story and how much they loved each other. This book discusses  serious topics so I feel the reader should know that going in. This is a sequel inspired by Fiddler on the Roof. I think everyone who is a fan of Historical Fiction should read this book as it is a little off the beaten path. The writing and the story is all kinds of fantastic.

2-  All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher  860 reviews

Published- September 1st, 2015

This is a Non-Fiction book by a West End Actress, writer, vlogger and blogger Carrie Hope Fletcher. The book is life lessons and advice from Carrie based on what she has learned in her own life. Part memoir and part stories from her own live and I was so excited reading this book. I didn't know who Carrie was  all that much going in, but this book  turned me into a fan of hers and I will read the rest of the books she writes.

3- The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde 684 ratings  ·  260 reviews

Published- May 22nd, 2018

I  enjoyed this book. While the plot is a bit loose I would say, but as a fan of music it was very much a great read for me. The characters of Emmy and Alfie were amazing, and they were the ones that kept my reading this book to the end. As a ship the two of them  were so cute and I was here for the cute little romance these two had. This book had such great representation with two non binary characters besides Emmy being Bi.

4- Check, Please ! #Hockey Vol 1 by Ngozi Ukazu 1,003 reviews

Published- September 18th, 2018

Let me say this book should have more reviews on Good Reads. I adore Bitty and Jack and I am saying this as a non sports fan all that much. This book is a web comic turned book comic, some comic anyway. Eric is a baker and I love his love of baking just as much as he loves Hockey. I can't wait to continue the book in the fall.

5-  The Epic Adventures of Lydia Benett  by Kate Rodrick and Rachel Kiley    1,212 ratings  ·  235 reviews

Published-  September 29th, 2018

This is a book that is based on the webseries. I didn't love Lydia in the Pride&Prejudice book, but I feel the webseries  and the fore mentioned book made her better. Lydia is a character who has made mistakes in the past, and she is now paying for those mistakes. This character is iconic and I was so here for her story and how she would repair from the mistakes of her past. This book is underrated and it's such a great story and an amazing  flawed character.

6- Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston 940 reviews

Published- February 27th, 2018

Wow this is a book loosely inspired by Anastasia Romanov. Once I had the time to devote to this book I flew through this novel. I loved the characters of Ana and D09 and the love these two had for each other. The plot was amazing is because they set it in space, and the world was great only expanded my love for this book.

7- A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages by Kristin Chenoweth, Joni Rodgers 940 reviews

Published- April 14th, 2009

This is a memoir written by Broadway actress, TV star,  and Music star Kristin Chenoweth. It's been a while since I have read the book but I love Kristin so much and have loved her for years. From what I remember, this book was so sweet and I loved knowing her story and how she felt about the shows she was in.

8-  The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet  by Bernie Su, Kate Rodrick 1, 362 reviews

Published - June 24th, 2014

This is a companion to the webseries The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Once I discovered this webseries I watched a ton of the episodes in one night. I heard the book was coming out, and it was instantly added to my tbr and as a pre order. This is a retelling of Pride&Prejudice and it was so well done. The characters have now entered the modern world, and I love them just as much as I did when I originally read P&P. This book is also incredibly under appreciated in the bookish community. I will reread this book in 2019.

9- White Hot Grief Parade by Alexandra Silber 80 ratings and 22 reviews

Published- July 3rd,  2018

So, here we have another book by Alexandra Silber this time it is a Non Fiction book. I didn't mention this the last time, but Alexandra, or Al is a Theatre actress, concert performer, and blogger. I have discussed this book several times in the past, but I think that it is work mentioning again. This is a serious book about Alexandra loosing her father at 18, and the year that followed. The book has a lot of wit and heart considering the serious nature of the topic.

10-  Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee 733 reviews

Published- June 6th, 2017

I read this book because the title was discussed in a Book Riot Newsletter.  Tash was a great man character, and I loved her so much. The fact that this also dealt with a webseries  was another reason I loved this book. This was the first book I read with an Ace lead, and I  was so thankful for the Ace representation. I plan on rereading this book in 2019.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday –Favorite Couples (Valentine’s Day /Love Freebie)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl. . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. I love doing this meme because it gives me a chance to bond with other bloggers. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we bloggers will make a post with our list on the topic, or a different one. This week it was Valentines / Love, so I wanted to do a post on favorite couples. I may have done a similar post last year, but I know that there are some new couples on this list.  1- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy- Pride & Prejudice   This is the only classic couple on this list. I enjoy their relationship because the two characters have little in common, and yet by the end of the novel, they make it work. As you read Pride & Prejudice, you get to see these two find the love each of them was missing. 2- Cath and Levi–Fangirl One of my favorite YA novels needed to appear on this list. I love Cath and Levi becau...

Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Historical

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Our Host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, readers gather and respond to the topic of  the week. This week, we are talking about Top Ten Books in our favorite genre. I love The Classics, YA of all kinds minus Horror and Mystery, and Historical. I choose Historical as I talk about Classics and YA a lot on this blog. These are in no order, just as they came to me. 1- Romanov  by Nadine Brandes I read this Anastasia retelling in nineteen days when it came out. I loved this book so much! About half the novel was the Romanov’s in exile, and their life in a house where they couldn’t do that much. As the story progresses, we see that Nastya is a spell master, so this is how Fantasy is sprinkled in with the Historical Fiction to tell a new story. I loved all aspects of this novel, even the ones that were sad, and almost caused me to throw this book across the room. I will review this book later on this month. I recommend this for any...
