Top Ten Tuesday-books I want to read this fall

Hi I'm back! I took an unexpected hiatus last week but I'm back this week. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Janna @thatartsyreadergirl. This meme is based on a love of lists and bringing the book community together. I'm trying to not do a tbr because I'm a becoming more and more of a mood reader. A tbr seems more and more restricting to me so this is a list of books I'd like to read before the end of the year. There will be other books but I'm not sure when I'll get a copy of them so I left them off the list here. Yes, I know this is more than 10 but I want to hit more than 10 books before the end of the year.

1- The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan (reread)

With my Birthday next month I’m going to ask for the whole series. I only have the first book which I read the summer of 2018. I really loved the story but I need to reread it so I can continue the series. I love Rick Riordan and his style.

2- Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks

I want to get this graphic novel for my birthday as well.  Rainbow Rowell is one of my favorite authors, and I loved Faith Erin Hicks when I read her debut this year. I out this on this list because I need the graphic novel with all these books. My excitement for this book is off the charts.

3- Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

This comes out today!!! I get my B&N Edition with the annotated pages and the cover art tomorrow. I will open the book when I get it and I’ll start it then. I’m excited to start on this journey with Simon, Baz, and Penny.

4- Little House on the Prairie (The First Five Novels) by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Telling myself that I will read this book in December because it has the winter vibes. The edition I have is pretty with gold pages from B&N. I read the books as a kid but I’m not sure I would call them novels? They were more like short stories with pictures. Anyway,  I’m ready for the memories of my childhood reading these. .

5- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

This book comes out in November and I’m so excited!!! I loved The Night Circus so much, and I would say that it’s one of my top books I’ve ever read. I’m so excited that Erin Morgenstern has written a new novel. I plan on pre ordering this one so I have it or going to the store close to when it comes out.

6- The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

The final book of The Folk of Air trilogy comes out in November as well. This will be another pre order or going to the store when it comes out. I’m not sure what edition I want because the B&N edition could tempt me if we can more content. I already have a paperback of The Cruel Prince,  and a hardcover of The Wicked King. Basically, what I’m saying is I’ve given up on having the same editions for this series. I can’t wait to see what the last book has in store.

7- The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky by Mackenzi Lee

This is a novella coming out in November, and yes I do know that at least three books are coming out in November. Some already have this and may have read it because it was a pre order when The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy came out. I can’t wait to see what happens in this story.

8- The Grisha Trilogy (at least the first book.) by Leigh Bardugo

This is me keeping my word that I would start this before the end of the year. Once I finish Hello Girls, and maybe another Ebook that relates to my novel for Nano this year I’ll read this one. This series seems beloved and I hope I love it as well.

9- The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork

I asked for this book last Christmas and fully intended to read it last winter. This is a Nutcracker and a dash of The Pied Piper. I read a book last December that was supposed to be about The Nutcracker and was left disappointed. This book just screams December vibes.

10- The Son of NeptuneHeroes of Olympus # 2) by Rick Riordan

I do National Novel Writing Month every November so I try to take it easy with the books because I’m writing a novel. After The Lost Hero I will start this one, which will probably be at the beginning of November.

11- The Mark of Athena (Heroes of Olympus # 3) by Rick Riordan

Calling this a December book but I’m not sure how long it will take me to finish The Son of Neptune. I want some light reading because I’ll probably still be reading The Grisha Verse at that night and that’s some heavy fantasy.

12- The Other Eisenstein by Marie Benedict

I picked this up at the B&N Book Haul. This will be an October book or November book even though I’m writing a Historical Fiction. I can’t wait to read this because it looks fantastic.

13- 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston

Some light fluffy contemporary for November because I know I won’t want to read a really heavy book that month. I might read an anthology of Jewish stories if I don’t read it in October. Anyway, this book looks so cute.

  1. Pumpkinheads has been on so many lists this week. I'm getting excited about reading it.

And the Little House on the Prairie books are the perfect things to read in the winter. They're short, sweet, and lovely.

  2. Oohhh nice! Seeing a lot of The Queen of Nothing! That one will likely be at the top of my TBR for winter--which I pretty much say is December, so like two weeks after its release! Lol. I hope you will love all of these and get to read as many of them as you can! And remember it's not winter until December 22, so every day before then is fall! lol. ;)

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

  3. Ooh you've got some good stuff here. :) I enjoyed the Little House books as a kid (I don't think I read them all but I did read at least two or three, I think) and I've been meaning to try that Holly Black series too.

  4. I can't believe I forgot to put it on my list, but The Starless Sea is definitely one I hope to read this fall.

  5. I've had "The Enchanted Sonata" on my shelf since last Christmas season! Should make time for it this year because it sounds really good. "10 Blind Dates" is SO MUCH FUN! Loving it so far. Oh, and while I watched "Little House on the Prairie" all the time as a kid, I'm not sure I've ever read the books. Certainly would be something fun to revisit. :) Hope you enjoy all of these, and thanks so much for the visit to Finding Wonderland.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. 2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
