Top Ten Tuesday - Anticipated 2020 Releases Winter Edition

Hello! Welcome to the first Top Ten Tuesday of 2020! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana@thatartsyreadergirl. This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Our topic this week is the books we're anticipating in the winter of 2020!  I will link to the books on Goodreads and give some reasons I'm looking forward to reading them.

1- Just Breathe by Cammie McGovern

Goodreads page for the book.  I read the first chapter of this, and I loved it so much. This year, I want to diversify my reading more in 2020. The main character has Cystic Fibrosis, and I've never read a book with a main character that had that. The Fault of Our Stars is a book I love, and I got those vibes when I read the first chapter. The story seems so sweet and I can't wait to read it.

2- Infinity Son (Cycle # 1) by Adam Silvera

Goodreads page for the book. I read What If It's Us last year, and that was the first book I read by him. I'm not the biggest fan of Fantasy, but this seems like it could draw me into the world and the story.  The book releases soon, and I can't wait to read it.

3- House of Earth and Blood  (Crescent City # 1) by Sarah J. Maas

Goodreads page for the book. Sarah J. Maas is one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read her next release. This a hyped book I'm sure, but I definitely want to read it when it comes out.  The added bonus is that the main character is part fae and part human.

4- Anna K: A Love Story by Jenny Lee

Goodreads page for the book. I've never read the book this story is based on, but once I knew about this book, I knew I needed to add to my tbr. Anna seems like an amazing character, and this story seems very drama-filled. As a bonus, this book takes place in New York City, and I love that setting for a book.

5- Alice By Heart by Steven Sater

Goodreads page for the book. I love Alice in Wonderland! This is a novelization of the Off-Broadway Musical of the same name, and you all know how I really about musicals. I enjoy the musical, but I plan on listening to it a little more before I read this story. The book seems to be a heartbreaking and beautiful story, I can't wait to dive in.

6- Super Adjacent by Crystal Cestari

Goodreads page for the book. This was the product of me adding a bunch of LGBTQ+ Fiction to my tbr I believe. I love Superheros, and I think this book sounds a fun Contemporary YA read. The girls seem fun, and I can't wait to meet them.

7- 19 Love Songs by David Levithan

Add this book to Goodreads. I read Will Grayson, Will Grayson last year, and I enjoyed it. This is the perfect book for Valentine's Day, and I love that it's made of short stories.

8- Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

Goodreads page for this book.  This book seems so sweet and I can't wait to read it. I love books that relate to Social Media or have a Social Media element. Pepper seems like such a sweet character and I can't wait to meet her.

9- Wife After Wife by Oliva Hayfield

Add this book to Goodreads. This is a modern take on the wives of Henry VIII and my hype is real. The Tudor Era is one of my favorite historical eras. so I'm very excited to read this.

10- Yes, No, Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed

Goodreads page for the book. I love Becky Allbertalli and I can't wait to read this release. The story seems sweet and the characters seem fun.

Please note- This is a scheduled post, and I will add my link later this week.

  2. Will Grayson was John Green! Personally I like David Levithan more, and am excited to see that he has a new collection of short stories coming out! Yes, No Maybe So is also on my TBR. I'm a big fan of Becky Albertalli ever since Simon vs. The Homo Sapien's Agenda.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday –Favorite Couples (Valentine’s Day /Love Freebie)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl. . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. I love doing this meme because it gives me a chance to bond with other bloggers. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we bloggers will make a post with our list on the topic, or a different one. This week it was Valentines / Love, so I wanted to do a post on favorite couples. I may have done a similar post last year, but I know that there are some new couples on this list.  1- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy- Pride & Prejudice   This is the only classic couple on this list. I enjoy their relationship because the two characters have little in common, and yet by the end of the novel, they make it work. As you read Pride & Prejudice, you get to see these two find the love each of them was missing. 2- Cath and Levi–Fangirl One of my favorite YA novels needed to appear on this list. I love Cath and Levi becau...

Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Historical

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Our Host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, readers gather and respond to the topic of  the week. This week, we are talking about Top Ten Books in our favorite genre. I love The Classics, YA of all kinds minus Horror and Mystery, and Historical. I choose Historical as I talk about Classics and YA a lot on this blog. These are in no order, just as they came to me. 1- Romanov  by Nadine Brandes I read this Anastasia retelling in nineteen days when it came out. I loved this book so much! About half the novel was the Romanov’s in exile, and their life in a house where they couldn’t do that much. As the story progresses, we see that Nastya is a spell master, so this is how Fantasy is sprinkled in with the Historical Fiction to tell a new story. I loved all aspects of this novel, even the ones that were sad, and almost caused me to throw this book across the room. I will review this book later on this month. I recommend this for any...
