Top Ten Tuesday on a Wednesday!

Hello! Yesterday got away from me and I just didn't have time to post my TTT. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Janna @thatartsyreadergirl. The purpose of the meme is to have the opportunity for bloggers to come together and discuss books based on a prompt. This week, we were supposed to do a freebie based on covers, however; I missed the week where we posted our Top Ten Books of 2019, so I've deiced to do that this week.

1- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I read this book over the summer of last year and I feel in love. Every part of this book was fantastic and so deserves the hype. I would love to read more of Taylor Jenkins Reid backlist, I've only read Evelyn Hugo, and Daisy Jones and the Six.

2- Comic Will Break Your Heart by Faith Erin Hicks

This was a buy based on a blurb I read on Goodreads or Book Riot, and I read it when it came out in Feb of last year. I was very impressed with this debut and I can't wait to see more from this author. I've spoken about this book a lot, but I feel like nobody else I've seen around the blogging community has read it. It's Contemporary YA with a huge nod to comics.

3- Romanov by Nadine Brandes

This Anastasia retelling was everything!!!! I forget how I found out about it, but I definitely devoured this story and during my busiest month of the year no less.  The story was a fantastic mix of Historical Fiction and Fantasy with the elements of magic. If you enjoy Anastasia, I recommend this because it was a new take that I had never seen before.

4- The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

If you've been following for me for a while, you know that I don't really read Fantasy, unless it's hyped up like ACOTAR and The Grisha Verse.  I followed the hype train and read this book, and I loved it. This was my first book of the year, the world and the characters captured me. This Year, I would really love to finish the trilogy.

5- The Wicked King by Holly Black

I followed The Cruel Prince with this not long after it came out. The story was delightful, I still don't know what book I enjoyed more. I disliked Taryn, and I want to try to find the Novella where we find out about her and her intentions

6- What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

This was such an adorable Meet Cute. As a fan of musicals, I loved the musical theater references. The title is a reference to a popular musical, so I knew from that this would be an auto-buy from me. Ben and Arthur were so cute and I really enjoyed getting to know them.

7-All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully by Carrie Hope Fletcher

This is a Non-Fiction book by a West End Actress, and I love supporting actors when they come out with memoirs. Carrie is also a Youtuber with a popular channel, so she has a fanbase that way. The book was so good and I loved all the advice given.

8- The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston

Okay so this was almost Geekerella, and really those two books are tied for this slot. I gave it to The Princess and the Fangirl because of Imogen, her brother, and finding out more Jessica. The story was great, and I loved being back in this world.

9- Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

I was in a bit of reading slump and this book helped me out of it! The story related to the theatre because the characters perform A Mid Summer Night's Dream.  There was drama sure, but there was also a swoony romance. Overall, I would say this is a light story which would be great if you're reading a lot of heavy-duty books.

10- The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork

I really should have read this book sooner!!! It was a fabulous mix of Historical Fiction and Fantasy like Romanov.  If you know the ballet The Nutcracker, read this because it's a retelling but it also combines another story.

    1. I read it last year as well. I didn't love it as much as Evelyn Hugo, but it was still a solid read for me.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
