Top Ten Tuesday- 11 books for the back half of the year!

Hello! I am back today with my Top Ten Tuesday post for this week. As always, our host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. The theme for this week is ten books you're anticipating for the back half of the year. I did 11 because I couldn't think of a book to remove for Soul of Stars.

1- Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
44017627

Expected publication- September 24th 2019

I enjoyed Cary on, and I will need to reread it before this book comes out. This looks great and I can't wait to see these characters again.

2- The Gentleman's Guide to Getting Lucky (Montague Siblings 1.5) by Mackenzi Lee
40742905

Expected publication - November 26th 2019

I know this novella was out as a preorder for The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, but I didn't submit my form so I never read it. I am so excited for this little story between Monty and Percy.

3- Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee
37076222

Expected publication- September 3rd 2019

Another Mackenzi Lee novel! I love Marvel and I can't wait to read this. I read somewhere that Mackenzi is writing three stories, and I am just putting it out there into the universe that I would love for her to write a Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Miss Marvel/ Captain Marvel, or Peggy Carter story.

4- Orpheus Girl by Brynne Rebele-Henry
41118351

Expected publication -October 8th 2019

First of all, yay lesbians!!! I was drawn to this novel because of the plot and the fact that this is based on Orpheus and Eurydice. As a fan of the musical Hadestown, I am familiar with the story and I love the story. Side note, can we talk about how cute the cover is? I love it.

5- American Royals by Katherine McGee
43744300

Another super cute cover!! I am so down for this story and I can't wait to read this!

Expected publication- September 3rd 2019

6-  The Lost Daughter by Gill Paul
37654429

Expected publication- August 27th   2019

I have read nothing by this author before. The thing that drew me in was the fact that this is based on Maria Romanov. Maybe not based, but Maria is used as part of this story. When reading about the Romanov's I kind of enjoy her as a person? I prefer Anastasia and Tatiana, but Maria seems like a great person. I was drawn to this because Romanov's!

7- The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
43575115

Expected publication- November 5th 2019

I am so happy that Erin Morgenstern has a new book coming out! The Night Circus is one  of the best books I've ever read, and I will reread that before this book comes out.

8- The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
26032912

Expected Publication- November 19th 2019

I featured this last Wednesday and I am so hyped for this. This trilogy will break me I can tell but I am ready for this. Also, the snake on the cover is terrifying.  I just noticed it but it looks pretty scary to me.

9- In the Time We Lost by Carrie Hope Fletcher
42424329

Expected publication- October 17th 2019

This is an author I don't see around in the book blogging community, maybe because she is lesser known. Carrie is a fantastic writer and I love her stories. I've read All That She Can See, and All I Know Now, which is her memoir and her advice for people. Carrie seems like such a nice person who really cares about her readers and her viewers when she posts videos on her Youtube channel.

10- The Adventure Zone-  Murder on the Rockport Limited! (The Adventure Zone Graphic Novels #2) by Clint McElory, Travis McElroy, Justin McElroy,  Griffin McElroy, and Carey Pietsch
41812788

Expected publication - July 16th 2019

I read the first book of these and it was enjoyable. I listen to the Podcast, but I am behind on it, I never listened to this section, but I love these novels. The plot is great and fun for the reader; the characters are fun and different from one another, and the art is so fantastic.

11- Soul of Stars (Heart of Iron # 2)
38880852

Expected publication July 23rd 2019

Heart of Iron was one of my favorite books in 2018. I am so excited for the sequel. If this is the end of the duology I will be sad as I love these characters and this world.

  2. Loki: Where Mischief Lies is on my list, as well! I was so excited when I saw that was coming! I'm not sure who the other two books will be about, but guaranteed I need to read this series. The Starless Sea looks like a really good book, too. I'm also sooo ready for The Queen of Nothing already! I don't want the series to end, but I want to know what happens. The struggle is real.

    Here's my TTT post.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
