Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @.thatartsyreadergirl. Every week, Jana will post a prompt and we book bloggers will make a list as a reply to the prompt, or a past one if we’re not feeling the current one. This bookish meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. This week, our prompt is books we wanted to read in 2020, but for some reason or other, we never got around to reading them. This year, I plan on reading a few of these as a part of my reading challenges.
Classics
1- The Secret Garden
2- A Little Princess
3- Anne of Green Gables
I tell myself every year I will read more classics. I’ve
been telling myself for years that I need to read these three books, and this
will finally be the year. I can’t wait to read these and see what I think about
them.
Fantasy
4- A Curse So Dark
and Lonely
5- The Ten Thousand Doors of January
6- A Starless Sea
Fantasy is a genre I read a lot of last year. I never got to
these three. At least one of them is one of my challenges prompts this year, and I
hope to maybe work the other two in later on in the year. A Curse So Dark and
Lonely is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, and I can’t wait to read this one.
Contemporary
6- The Summer of Jordi Perez
7- Well Met
8- Don’t Read the Comments
All of these books sound so good! I love contemporary, but I
just never got around to reading these three books last year. The Summer of
Jordi Perez is on my TBR, and I hope to work the other two books into my tbr
for the rest of the year.
Historical Fiction
9-In The Neighborhood of True
I love Historical Fiction, and I can’t wait to read this one
for one of my challenges this year! This book sounds so good.
Theater related
10: Working on A Song
I love the musical Hadestown, and I went to a virtual talk
last year with the composer and lyricist Anais Mitchell. This book sounds so
good, and it talks you through all the incarnations of Hadestown.
Honorable Mention
11: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I recently ordered a copy of this book. I can’t wait to read it because it was loved among the bookish community.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January and The Starless Sea are books I definitely need to get to, also! I loved A Curse So Dark and Lonely, though! Definitely worth the read. I actually *just* finished The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue this weekend, and it's sooo worth the read! Just prepare your feels ahead of time. ;)
