Hey yo Westerberg- Heathers the musical Booktag!

Hi! Today I wanted to do a book tag. This is the Heathers the Musical booktag. From the moment I saw it, I knew I would need to do this tag. The original idea came from Carrie Hope Fletcher posting the video of her doing the tag-here.

1. Beautiful: The prettiest book cover in your collection

I have many, but I have to go with Romanov. I love the black and gold of this cover.

2. Fight for me: A character that’s loyal to the end

So many characters fit this prompt. For the sake of this tag, I’m going to go with Cath Avery from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Even when she was at odds with her sister, Cath was still loyal to her sister.

3. Dead Girl Walking: The steamiest book you’ve ever read

I’m not one to read a book that has a lot of steamy scenes or romances. A Court of Sliver Flames by Sarah J. Maas because of the scenes between Nesta and Cassian fit this prompt for me.

4. The Me Inside of Me: A book that made you feel less alone

I just started The Chance to Fly by Ali Stroker and Stacy Davidowitz. This book is excellent and the main character definitely makes me feel less alone.

5. You’re Welcome: A book where someone gets their comeuppance

For this I wasn’t sure what book to use. I ended up with The A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas with the character Tamlin. If you read past the first book, you will see why.

6. Never shut up again: A book where someone has a mic drop moment

There are so many books that would work well for this. I’m going with American Royals because during portions in that book, Nina had a few mic drop moments.

7. Our Love Is God: A moment in a book where two people have a perfect moment right before shit hits the fan

I love this prompt because I think it could work well with so many books. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue right before we find out that Henry had also made a deal with the devil, and that his time was almost up. Addie and he have a great moment right before this.

8. My Dead Gay Son: A book where parents accept their kids exactly as they are

The first book that came to mind for me was Simon vs the Homo sapiens Agenda. I talk about this book a lot on the blog, but I think that Simon’s parents fit this prompt perfectly.

9. I Say No: A book where someone stands up for themselves

I think a lot of characters and books would work well for this prompt. During Red, White, and Royal Blue several characters stand up for themselves.

10. Kindergarten Boyfriend: A character who is hopeful against all odds

I would say Monica Garcia from Fearless (Fearless Series Book 1) by Mandy Gonzalez. This is a new release, but Monica has several times during the book where she is hopeful things will work out.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday books/ series I would recommend to someone who says don’t like to read.

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a topic, and we will all make a list based on that topic. This week, the topic is Books Written Before I Was Born ( These can be books you’ve read or want to read! ) ( submitted by Davida Chazan @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog ). I wasn’t feeling this, and so I went through and found a post from The Broke & the Bookish, and I did that. The original post can  be found here . I thought I would recommend some books from some of my favorite genres.   The Classics 1- Pride & Prejudice This is one of my favorite classics, and when making my list this week, I knew I needed to include it. The reason is that I think this is one of the best books by Jane Austen, and we use the story in a lot of modern media. 2- To Kill A Mocking Bird I was so surprised by how much...
