Can’t Wait Wednesday-A Lot Like Aidos by Alexis Daria

Hi! Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Tressa @ wishfulendings This meme is an off-shoot of Waiting on Wednesday which was hosted by Jill @ breakingthespine. This meme highlights a book, usually unpublished, that we can’t wait to read. This week I’m featuring A Loot Like Adios by Alexis Daria. All Information comes from Goodreads.

Title: A Lot Like Adios

 Author: Alexis Daria

Expected Publication: September 14th, 2021

Goodreads Summary

"Alexis Daria's A Lot Like Adiós is a charming, sexy spitfire of a novel! Between Mich and Gabe's crackling dialogue and their palpable yearning, I fell hard and fast for this book, racing through its pages until I finally closed it with an overflowing heart and a deep happy sigh. Romance readers, this is your new favorite book!" --Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of People We Meet on Vacation.

The national bestselling author of You Had Me at Hola returns with a seductive second-chance romance about a commitment-phobic Latina and her childhood best friend who has finally returned home.

Hi Mich. It’s Gabe.

After burning out in her corporate marketing career, Michelle Amato has built a thriving freelance business as a graphic designer. So what if her love life is nonexistent? She’s perfectly fine being the black sheep of her marriage-obsessed Puerto Rican-Italian family. Besides, the only guy who ever made her want happily-ever-after disappeared thirteen years ago.

It’s been a long time.

Gabriel Aguilar left the Bronx at eighteen to escape his parents’ demanding expectations, but it also meant saying goodbye to Michelle, his best friend and longtime crush. Now, he’s the successful co-owner of LA’s hottest celebrity gym, with an investor who insists on opening a New York City location. It’s the last place Gabe wants to go, but when Michelle is unexpectedly brought on board to spearhead the new marketing campaign, everything Gabe’s been running from catches up with him.

I’ve missed you.

Michelle is torn between holding Gabe at arm’s length or picking up right where they left off—in her bed. As they work on the campaign, old feelings resurface, and their reunion takes a sexy turn. Facing mounting pressure from their families—who think they’re dating—and growing uncertainty about their futures, can they resolve their past mistakes, or is it only a matter of time before Gabe says adiós again?”

Why I want to read this

I know I read a ton of YA stories and this is an adult book. I’m loving the idea of a second chance romance with childhood friends. I’m hoping the romance is sweet and that this is also a story of Mich and Gabe reconnecting as adults. I can’t wait to read this.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday books/ series I would recommend to someone who says don’t like to read.

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a topic, and we will all make a list based on that topic. This week, the topic is Books Written Before I Was Born ( These can be books you’ve read or want to read! ) ( submitted by Davida Chazan @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog ). I wasn’t feeling this, and so I went through and found a post from The Broke & the Bookish, and I did that. The original post can  be found here . I thought I would recommend some books from some of my favorite genres.   The Classics 1- Pride & Prejudice This is one of my favorite classics, and when making my list this week, I knew I needed to include it. The reason is that I think this is one of the best books by Jane Austen, and we use the story in a lot of modern media. 2- To Kill A Mocking Bird I was so surprised by how much...

Top Ten Tuesday- Fall TBR

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was made to foster our love of lists and bring the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a list, and we readers will write a response. We also have the option of doing our own thing. This week our topic is fall tbr. I’m a mood reader, and I help out with a game and take part in a game every month. Every time you see a game prompt means that I will try to find a book on my shelves once I find out what the prompts will be. I’m going to reserve two books a month for games. I plan on reading more than what is listed here. This is just a small taste of what I hope to read.   September 1- On the Come Up by Angie Thomas (57%) done–I left my Ipad down the shore, luckily my mom and sister found It and they have it. I am enjoying this book. I’m not sure if I will be able to finish this by the end of this month, but I wanted to put it here anyway. 2- Barakah Beats by Maleeha Siddiqui (10% d...
