Top Ten Tuesday-- Favorite Places to read

Hi! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme Jana hosts @thatartsyreadergirl This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists, and bringing the book blogging community together. Each Week, Jana will post a prompt, and we readers will post our list as a reply. We also have the option of going rogue, and posting a topic of our own choosing or a past topic. This week out topic is favorite places to read.

1- At my desk

I read a lot in my room and at my desk. I’m trying to find another method because I tend to stop reading and look at a notification that distracts me. I enjoy reading at my desk because it’s easy.

2- In bed

I need to be wide awake to read in bed, but I might start doing it more. Reading in bed is less distracting for me, but it still can make me tired.

3- In the car

Some weeks I spend a lot of time in the car. When I’m in the the car I’ll try to read a chapter or two, but it sends up being more like 3-4 depending on how long the car ride is. Sometimes I don’t want to listen to the music other people in the car enjoy, so I’ll bring a book instead of listening to music on my phone.

4- On the couch

The couch is one of my favorite places to read, but like my bed, it can make me tired if I’m not fully awake. I enjoy reading on the couch because it is comfortable.

5- In a chair

I love reading in a chair that my mom has in her family room. I think it’s the perfect reading chair because it has support for your back, and it is comfortable.

6- At the kitchen table

I do this more at my mom’s but I love reading at the kitchen table or counter because it’s a good surface to put my book down on.

7- At the salon

I am one of those people that will read while waiting to get my hair done or waiting for my nails to dry. I will also read when I’m getting my toenails done. I love reading at the salon because there’s not much else to do there other than reading magazines. I’m not one of those people who like constant updates on the lives of celebrities, so I just prefer to read a book.

8- In the waiting room

From time to time, I will read a book while I’m in the waiting room. This is another case of me not wanting to read the magazines they have in the waiting room.

9- On A Plane

I don’t travel on planes all that much, maybe once every few years. Even for quick plan rides, I need to bring a book because most of the flights I go on have been quick and don’t really have the TV set up for everyone. Even when they do, most of the flights I take aren’t enough to finish a movie, so I end up just reading.

10- The Beach

I go down the shore a bit in the summer, but I don’t spend a lot of time on the beach. I really enjoy reading on the beach because it’s outside and it can be calm there with the waves. I also like seeing what other people are reading on the beach.

  5. These are all good places to read. The salon is a place I haven't seen on any lists yet. I, like you, prefer reading a book instead of the celebrity magazines in waiting rooms and at the salon.

    Here's my TTT list.

  7. I forgot about the salon but I love to read there too. I enjoy it so much more than trying to make random small talk with the other people there. That's just so awkward for me.

    1. Yes making the random small talk is why I prefer to read at the salon.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  ...

Top Ten Tuesday books/ series I would recommend to someone who says don’t like to read.

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl . This weekly meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Each week, Jana will post a topic, and we will all make a list based on that topic. This week, the topic is Books Written Before I Was Born ( These can be books you’ve read or want to read! ) ( submitted by Davida Chazan @ The Chocolate Lady’s Book Review Blog ). I wasn’t feeling this, and so I went through and found a post from The Broke & the Bookish, and I did that. The original post can  be found here . I thought I would recommend some books from some of my favorite genres.   The Classics 1- Pride & Prejudice This is one of my favorite classics, and when making my list this week, I knew I needed to include it. The reason is that I think this is one of the best books by Jane Austen, and we use the story in a lot of modern media. 2- To Kill A Mocking Bird I was so surprised by how much...
