Hello Everyone! Welcome back to Top Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly prompt that is hosted by thatartsyreadergirl. This weeks prompt is new to me authors I read in 2018. Now, 2018 was a great year for me professionally, however, that meant that I could not read as much as I could. I will list the authors, the book(s), and why I put them on this list. I could only think of 5 that were deserving out a shout out, hence why I changed this from top ten to top five. Images from Goodreads
1- Sarah J. Maas
Read- A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
I loved the world that Maas builds in her book series. I had heard about all the hype surrounding this series, and so I wanted to give it a shot and see for myself if it was worth the hype. Seeing as I flew through the first three books in the first months of 2018, I can confirm that this series is worth the hype. Maas creates characters that you want to root for, and you want to see them achieve their goals.
2- Becky Albertalli
Read- Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda, Leah On The Offbeat.
I loved this contemporary YA romance. I wanted to finish it before Love, Simon came out, and I finished it about a week before I saw the film. I love the characters in this novel. Leah on the Offbeat was also a delightful book although I still have a preference for Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda.
3- Ashley Poston
Read- Heart of Iron.
This book was billed as a loosely based Anastasia retelling, only the setting is space. I read the first five chapters as part of Epic Reads First Five. Once I read the first five chapters, I knew I needed to see where the story was going to go. I loved the characters and the world.
4- Helen Rappaport
Read- The Romanov Sisters: The Lost Lives of the Daughters of Nicholas and Alexandra
This is a nonfiction book, and that was one of the things that I loved about it. I went in mostly blind, this book was recommended to me as a go-to book for a history of the Romanov's. It did not disappoint, and although it was nonfiction, it reads like a story. I loved all the facts and the research in this book.
5- L. M. Elliott
Read- Hamilton and Peggy! A Revolutionary Friendship.
This was a story that was a mix of fact and fiction. I loved the characters in the novel and the history that is in this book.

I'm glad you were able to come up with 5! I found this week's topic a bit tricky, too.
ReplyDeleteYou make Simon vs. the Homo Sapien Agenda sound like such a good read.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
