Top Ten Tuesdays!

Hello! Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by thatartsyreadergirl. Today's topic is Books I Meant to Read in 2018. I will add a link to the Goodreads for the books. I pick these books from going through the first 10 pages of my 16 page Goodreads TBR

1- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7896527-throne-of-glass?ac=1&from_search=true

Last year was the year that I got into the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I would love to get to these books in 2019. I love Sarah J. Maas and I love her worlds she creates.

2- Bygone Badass Broads- 52 Forgotten Women Who Changed the World by Mackenzi Lee

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35888416-bygone-badass-broads

I have read Lee's  The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue and the sequel. I own this book, and I will save it for a challenge prompt in 2019. I can't wait to read this.

3-  Catwoman- Soul Stealer by Sarah J. Maas

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29749098-catwoman

Going hand in hand with Throne of Glass, I should have read this book last year. It is on the TBR for 2019 once I get a copy! I love Selina Kyle, and I can't wait to see what Sarah J. Maas does.

4- A Date with Mr. Darcy (Bookish Boyfriends #1)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35888335-a-date-with-darcy

This book is right up my alley and I don't know why I have not read the book yet. The plot seems so fun and from the Goodreads summary; the character seems relatable.

5- Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33275690-foolish-hearts

I am not sure why a theater kid like me has not read this book yet. I so much want to read this book because a plot point is A Mid Summer Night's Dream. In 2019 I will find and read this novel!!!

6- The Hazelwood (The Hazelwood #1) by Melissa Albert

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34275232-the-hazel-wood

I don't know why I have not read this book yet. I like the plot and I think that I would like this novel. I know the second book comes out soon, so I want to read this before that comes out.

7- Life Is Like a Musical: How Broadway Can Help You Live Your Best Life by Tim Federle

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34220087-life-is-like-a-musical

I met Tim at a signing at Broadwaycon a few years ago, but I have read none of the books he has written. This book seems like so much fun and I can't wait to read this book in 2019.

8- Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy: The Story of Little Women and Why It Still Matters by Annie Boyd Rioux

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40584180-meg-jo-beth-amy

I love Little Women so much and I can't believe that I have not read this book yet. This book seems like so much fun and a break from the fictional worlds that I read a lot of.

9- My Plain Jane (The Janies # 2) by  Cynthia Hand  Jodi Meadows  Brodi Ashton

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36301023-my-plain-jane

I love Jane Eyre and I would love to read this book in 2019. I have not read the first one, but I think I might read the second one first.

10- The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2769150-the-phantom-of-the-opera

I wanted to put on a classic on this list. The Phantom of the Opera is four on the list of my Top Five favorite musicals. I have wanted to read the source material for years, but I have never gotten around to it. In 2019, I will get a copy of this book and read it.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday –Favorite Couples (Valentine’s Day /Love Freebie)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl. . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. I love doing this meme because it gives me a chance to bond with other bloggers. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we bloggers will make a post with our list on the topic, or a different one. This week it was Valentines / Love, so I wanted to do a post on favorite couples. I may have done a similar post last year, but I know that there are some new couples on this list.  1- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy- Pride & Prejudice   This is the only classic couple on this list. I enjoy their relationship because the two characters have little in common, and yet by the end of the novel, they make it work. As you read Pride & Prejudice, you get to see these two find the love each of them was missing. 2- Cath and Levi–Fangirl One of my favorite YA novels needed to appear on this list. I love Cath and Levi becau...

Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Historical

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Our Host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, readers gather and respond to the topic of  the week. This week, we are talking about Top Ten Books in our favorite genre. I love The Classics, YA of all kinds minus Horror and Mystery, and Historical. I choose Historical as I talk about Classics and YA a lot on this blog. These are in no order, just as they came to me. 1- Romanov  by Nadine Brandes I read this Anastasia retelling in nineteen days when it came out. I loved this book so much! About half the novel was the Romanov’s in exile, and their life in a house where they couldn’t do that much. As the story progresses, we see that Nastya is a spell master, so this is how Fantasy is sprinkled in with the Historical Fiction to tell a new story. I loved all aspects of this novel, even the ones that were sad, and almost caused me to throw this book across the room. I will review this book later on this month. I recommend this for any...
