I present these in no order.  Images from Goodreads

1- Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy: A Graphic Novel: A Modern Retelling of Little Women

by
Rey Terciero,

Bre Indigo (Illustrations)

Expected publication: February 5,2019
I love Little Women! I've read a few graphic novels, but I  always wanted to read more of them. This is also a modern retelling, and I love the idea of another modern retelling of this classic story. Also, I love a story that takes place in NYC; I am just very excited to read a new novelization of this story. I love the cover of the book, and so I look forward to seeing the illustrations.

2- King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo (Nikolai Duology # 1)

36307634

Expected publication: January 29, 2019

So, I will admit that I have not read The Grisha trilogy yet, but I have a big book of the first three novels I will start next month. I love what I have heard about the world so far, and the series is popular. I look forward to reading this between the original three books, and the Six Crows Duology.  I can't wait to explore this world and these characters.

3- The Wicked King by Holly Black (The Folk of Air #2)

Expected publication: January 8, 2019  (today!!!!)

I will not read this until I can buy a physical copy, maybe next month or later this month when I get to the store. I am reading the first book, and I love these characters and this world. I don't know why I took this long to read the book. I  can't wait to see where the rest of the story goes for the rest of this book, and the book to come. I am sure this book has been hyped, but I think it is well deserved.

4- Sky Without Stars (System Divine #1) by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell

34513785

Expected publication: May 26th, 2019

I love Les Miserables and they bill this as a Les Miserables retelling. I love that this is more than one book because it gives me more time to fall in love with the world and the characters. I have read Les Miserables, and I want to see how this book compares to the original story. I love everything about this book already!

5- Romanov by Nadine Brandes

Expected publication: May 7, 2019

I love the Romanovs! I am so excited to read this retelling it looks like it the book to pull me into the world, and the people I love. This is a new tale about Anastasia and I  am so here for this story.

6- The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston (Once Upon A Con # 2)
39725622

Expected publication: April 2, 2019

I loved Ashley Poston's Heart of Iron! I have the first book in this series I will read before this release. I love the look of this book and the fact it is a retelling. The Goodreads summary pulls be in because it is a twist on the classic mistaken identity story.

7- Sherwood by Meagan Spooner

Expected publication: March 19, 2019

A Robin Hood story with Marian as the star?! Yes, please! I am so excited to read this book and see the kinds of adventures that Marian will go on within this story. The arc reviews of this book give the novel high praise, which makes me more excited to read it.

8- Going Off- Script by Jen Wilde

39071056

I enjoyed The Brightsiders last year, so when I saw this book come up on a list today, I knew I wanted to read it. As a writer, who is big into fandom, I can see what Bex is going through, and I can't wait to read her story. I feel that this is a story that needs to be told, so I am very excited to read it.

9- Enchantée by  Gita Trelease

Expected publication: February 5,2019

I am taken in because this novel takes place in France! Also, it is historical fiction and I am so down for a grand historical fiction. The plot of the book looks amazing, maybe not what I reach for, but this could change my mind with the story. The story seems magical from the Goodreads summary.

10-  Comics Will Break Your Heart by Faith Erin Hicks

34506913
Expected publication: February 12,2018

I love the premise of this book! I feel this will be a very engaging story about two people who should maybe not be together. I can't wait to read this!

What are your most anticipated releases for the first half of this year?

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
