Top Ten Tuesday- Autobuy Authors

Hello! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. This weekly meme is hosted by Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. This meme was born out of a love of lists. Our topic this week is Autobuy Authors.

1- Rainbow Rowell

Shocking I know. Just kidding, I have not read her whole catalog, but I've read most of them. My favorite I've read by her is Fangirl. I love her style and her way with characters.

2- Sarah J. Maas

One of my favorite Fantasy Authors! My favorite book by her is A Court of Mist and Fury. I read the whole A Court Of Thorns and Roses series last year, and I love it so much. What I love most about Maas is her ability to draw you into a world and have characters you want to root to see win in the end. A Court of Thorns and Roses is the only series I've read by her.
Parade,

3- John Green

I used to be on a Gilmore Girls forum back in the day, like over ten years ago now, I met and became close with a few of the members there. My love for John Green is all thanks to them. I have almost all his books and I've read most of them. What I love most about him is his ability to craft a story that makes you really pull on your heart strings. My favorite book by him is Turtles All The Way Down. The first book I read by him was The Fault In Our Stars.

4- Alexandra Silber

This is an unknown author. In fact, I have never come across another blogger who has read a book by her. What I love about her is her ability to create a new story based on existing characters and still create original characters in that same story. Her memoir, White Hot Grief Parade, talk about losing her dad at 18 and the year that followed. In this book, Silber takes a topic that is very serious, and adds her own wit to it. I can't pick which book I love more, so I recommend both White Hot Grief Parade and After Anatevka.

5- Adam Silvera

I don't know why it's taken me so long to read an Adam Silvera novel, and the only one I have read was one he co authored. Adam has a style I love and he is like John Green where he writes these stories and these characters that will tug on your heartstrings. I have a few books by him on my tbr, and I am looking forward to his Fantasy Debut next year. The only book I've read by him was What If It's Us.

6- Taylor Jenkins Reid

This is the year I'm read Taylor Jenkins Reid! I preferred The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, however; I still enjoyed Daisy Jones and the Six. What I love about Taylor Jenkins Reid is her ability to craft a story that is relatable and that people will want to read more.

7- Becky Albertalli

I've read three books by her and I love her style. My favorite was What If It's Us, for novels you wrote by herself, my favorite is Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. I've read three books by her, and I plan on reading her new book when it comes out next year.

8- Carrie Hope Fletcher

Another lesser known author, but she has more of a following with young people because of her YouTube Channel. I started with Carrie's Memoir/ Advice book. I enjoyed that so much that I read All That She Can See. While I did have a flaw in that novel, I still thought it was a 4.5 star read. What I love about Carrie is the way she crafts a character.

9- Holly Black

My other Fantasy fave!! If you've been following me for a while, you know that I was reading the first two books in the Folk of Air trilogy this year. What I love about Holly is the same as Sarah J. Maas, the way she crafts a world and a character. I can't wait for The Queen of Nothing.

10- Ashley Poston

True story- I almost left one of my favorite authors and ones I will always buy off this list. My first book by her was Heart of Iron, I rave a lot about that book on this blog so I'm thinking you all know my feelings on the novel. I can't wait for the end of the Duology even if it will hit me with the feels. I read Geekerella to prep for The Princess and the Fangirl, which is my favorite book I've read by her. What I love most about her is her characters, they're imperfect and they are okay with the fact that they're imperfect and embrace their flaws.

  3. I've heard of most of these authors, but the only ones I've read are Rowell and Green, and I've only read two by the former and one by the latter. I need to catch up!

  6. Great list, but mine would be totally different. (Which, of course, is why I love reading these types of posts - to see if there are authors out there I should be looking at!)

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
