Top Ten Tuesdays- Favorite Female Characters I want to hang out with

Hello! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday. This weekly meme is hosted by Jana @http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/. The purpose of this meme is to write a list based on a prompt for that week. Our prompt for this week is a character freebie. I am going to be honest that this list started off as my favorite characters. Upon thought I wanted to do something more creative and so this is female characters I want to hang out with. I realize some of these are classics, but I have a plan for those. I mean all but one of these to take place in Modern Day 2019.

1- Cather Avery from Fangirl

I am sure you’re all shocked to see her on this list, just kidding. Anyway, I love Cath so much and I really have a connection to Cath as a character. Cath and I would go to the library and just chat. Cath and I both have a love of fandom and both write fan fics. I have never been to Nebraska, so I think it would be fun to just hang out in her hometown, and she could tell me all the cool places. I believe this will be such a fun day and it sounds perfect.

2- Anastasia Romanov from Romanov

Nastya is also such an awesome bad ass character that I love so much. This is an Anastasia retelling, and it was everything. If Nastya lived in modern day, I would love to hang out with her and talk about books and magic. In this retelling, Nastya is a spell caster in training and she helps her brother. I would just like to ask her about magic and ask her about her family as Nastya loves her family. I would like to hang out with her in Russia because I am of Russian heritage, but I have never been there, and I think it would be so much fun to explore Russia with her.

3- Miriam Hendrix from Comics Will Break Your Heart

Mir is such a fun nerdy character and I have so much love for her. I’m a fan of comics, however; I have never read a comic book as I know the world is vast and deep in comics. I enjoy a great graphic novel and so I can relate to her on that aspect. Miriam is an introvert as I am so the two of us would just hang out and talk about books. Canada is a place I’ve always wanted to see, so we could just hang out and walk around Canada as well.

4- Imogen “Mo” Lovelace from The Princess and the Fangirl

Imogen is a fantastic character and truly one of my new faves. She is one of the main characters in The Princess and the Fangirl and she is everything! Mo and I both have a love of books and all things geek culture. Another thing about both of us is that we both have a love for our fandoms. I would want to hang out with her at the con talked about her her book, as I believe we would have so much fun at a con. Mo loves Star Field and I think the show and the fandom is based off Star Trek or Star Wars, and I adore Star Wars.

5- Felicity Montague from The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy

Felicity is another bad ass that I love so much. In her novels, she is trying to defy the world she lives in and be the kind of person she wants to be for her and nobody else. I see those qualities in myself but I’m a little less bold than Felicity is. Her stories take place in Europe and I would love to hang out with her in Paris. I also have some French heritage, so there is the personal connection to France for me. Our day would just be exploring Paris and talking about books we enjoy.

6- Hodel from After Anatevka

I needed to include a character who is also known as a musical theater character on this list. I’ve spoken about this book a lot as it is one of my favorite Historical Fiction novels. Hodel is another character who lives her life for her, and I just adore this quality about her. In her story Hodel lives in Russia, however; I would bring her to New York City as I feel she would enjoy the big city. Both of us have a love of family, and a love of books. Our day would just be exploring New York City and seeing a Broadway show or two.

7- Lizzie Bennett from Pride & Prejudice

No list would be complete without Lizzie. She is a firecracker and I love her for that. We both have a love of books, and I put her on my INFJ characters I relate to. Lizzie and I would spend the day in the English Countryside. I have always wanted to see the English Countryside, and I have only been to London once, which was for a very short trip. We would spend our day drinking tea and talking about books.

8- Natasha “Tash” Zelenka from Tash Hearts Tolstoy

An underrated character from an underrated book that I never see talked about! I love Tash because she is so sweet yet goes after what she wants. As a side note, Tash is Ace, and it is a big part of her story, but it wasn’t her whole story. I am a fan of Tolstoy and web series, even though I am still in the middle of War & Peace. As I was reading this book a few years ago, I couldn’t help but relate to Tash. While I don’t remember where this book takes place, I want to spend the day with Tash in Chicago, as I feel like would like a big city, however; I’m not sure she would jive with the hugeness of New York City. The airport in Chicago is the only place I’ve been, and I want to talk with her about books and adaptions. Also, we would probably see a show.

9- Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses series

My favorite Fantasy girl needed to be included here. This is also the only one which wouldn’t be in 2019, but in her world in the time she lives in. Feyre is another firecracker and the complete opposite of me. My day with Feyre would be meeting her friends and going around to all the courts.

10- Jane from Jane Eyre

I’ve spoken about my love for Jane on this blog time and time again. Jane lives in England but I would bring her to New Jersey, the Jersey Shore to be exact. If I’m bringing any of the characters to the beach, it’s Jane as I think we would have a fun time reading on the beach, having dinner on the boardwalk, and going on rides. For those familiar with the Jersey Shore, I go to Ocean City a lot which is where I would take Jane, as it’s still fun but less wild than Wild Wood.

  2. Cath is such a great character and I think a lot of people can relate to her- starting college or university, loves fandoms, socially anxious, etc. So many relatable things haha! I also liked her relationship with Reagan, since they were so opposite- another thing that happens in college sometimes!

  3. Ooh nice picks! Gotta admit, lots of new to me characters here! Except for Feyre...and Romanov is in my TBR pile, so I won't be a stranger to that one forever! Lol.

  4. Ooh, I'd love to hang out with Nastya also! Felicity and Feyre would also be really neat people to meet as well. Nice list!

  5. I went to college at the University of Nebraska (in Lincoln) and lived in Cather Hall for two years. In fact, Avery is also a building on campus. Rowell gives her characters such obnoxious names, after cities and people from here. No worries, Lincoln is not that great so you are not missing out on much!

You've got a great mix of characters here, I really like your list!

  7. Yasss Queen!!! I would so love to hang out with Cather and fangirl about Baz while having an emergency dance party. Oh and Felicity is such a great character. Maybe we could have a tea party with her and Lizzy Bennett, that would make intersting company.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
