Supergirl 2x08 Medusa
Airdate: November 28th, 2016
Rating:***** (5 stars)
This was the first episode the huge crossover event with the DC Universe shows on the CW this week, and I think it was a great way to start the crossover. The episode started at Thanksgiving with: Kara, Alex, Winn, and James, Kal, and Liza Alex’s mother and Kara’s adoptive mother while they’re going around and saying what they’re thankful for a portal in the wall opens, and just space is there. Kara goes to talk with Lena Luther, and at the time it seems   like Lena is open to working against her mother in a way. The villain of the week this week happen to be the White Martian who was gone by the end of the episode, he was unable to control his powers and he had fully  lost control of his powers. A computer that Kara is talking to, and the man behind the screen says that he has created some kind of a virus, and that it will spread around the city J’onn  /The White Martian is infected as he and the man that J’onn is trapped inside of Henry Henshaw who becomes Cyborg  Superman at the end of the episode. When he is dreaming in his hospital bed Kal has a dream that he is on a ship, and that he is talking to two hooded figures on this ship when he wakes up he is talking to Kara. Towards the end of the episode, Lena Luther is  helping her mother launch a rocket, this is where Kara realizes that maybe Lena is not the person that Kara thought that she was and this where both Hank and J’onn get hit in the crossfire. Maggie brings Alex a pizza but she also wants to see her, and she wants to talk to her they kiss at the end of the episode  and then  the portal comes out of the wall, and Barry and Cisco walk out.

I really loved a lot of things about this episode, the fact that we got to see a holiday or some of one anyway at the apartment because it was a way of seeing everyone that you love on the show together, at least for a short amount of time. The whole Henry and J’onn story line I loved, because I feel  like it was something that had been kind of a lead up on the show for a few weeks, and when it finally happened it was a very cool story line to watch. The Lena Luther being two sided, and working with her mother when you as the viewer know that the two of them don’t really see eye to eye, or at least that is what Lena and her mother tell you. Just seeing her working with her mother with on  the rocket, and seeing Lena press the button it was a real turning point I thought. The Alex and Maggie storyline I absolutely loved, if you follow  me on Tumblr  then you know how much I love Alex and Maggie, and seeing them kiss on the show was very satisfying for me. The fact that they are now going to potentially start dating was something that I was very much looking forward to, and I just love the dynamic that the two of them have on the show. The little appearance from Barry and Cisco at the end just put a really great episode over the time, and how excited that Kara was to see Barry again made me just so happy. Overall I think that this was a very strong episode for the crossover, and I loved how they worked Barry and Cisco in at the end if the episode.

The one thing that I really didn’t like about this episode was the fact that it was supposed to be a crossover, and while yes we did have a crossover, I feel like the other characters could be used more in the episode. I understand that it was Supergirl, and so it was supposed to be  about that show but I don’t think that that the others were used enough. Some of the other characters could have popped up, yes Barry and Cisco did but others could have come on and been seen as well.

Top Ten Tuesday- Holiday / Seasonal Freebie- Memorable characters of 2020

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana  @thatartsyreadergirl . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we book bloggers will post a reply to the topic. This week, it's a seasonal / winter freebie. I kind of went rogue in a way. In the winter you see the end of the year best-of lists, and that's exactly what I did with this post. You will find subsections to indicate the genre each book is in.  YA Contemporary 1- Pepper from Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Tweet Cute was a novel I read in September. I fell hard for the major character, Pepper. She was so sweet, and she wanted so much to lice her own life.  As a bonus, she baked, and I seem to really love characters who bake. Pepper made this list because she wanted to live her own life for her, and I really admire that quality in a person. 2- Sophie from 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston I’m in the middle of this book right now, but I ...

Top Ten Tuesday –Favorite Couples (Valentine’s Day /Love Freebie)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana @ thatartsyreadergirl. . This meme was born out of a love of lists and bringing the book blogging community together. I love doing this meme because it gives me a chance to bond with other bloggers. Every week, Jana will post a topic, and we bloggers will make a post with our list on the topic, or a different one. This week it was Valentines / Love, so I wanted to do a post on favorite couples. I may have done a similar post last year, but I know that there are some new couples on this list.  1- Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy- Pride & Prejudice   This is the only classic couple on this list. I enjoy their relationship because the two characters have little in common, and yet by the end of the novel, they make it work. As you read Pride & Prejudice, you get to see these two find the love each of them was missing. 2- Cath and Levi–Fangirl One of my favorite YA novels needed to appear on this list. I love Cath and Levi becau...

Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Historical

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Our Host is Jana @thatartsyreadergirl . Every week, readers gather and respond to the topic of  the week. This week, we are talking about Top Ten Books in our favorite genre. I love The Classics, YA of all kinds minus Horror and Mystery, and Historical. I choose Historical as I talk about Classics and YA a lot on this blog. These are in no order, just as they came to me. 1- Romanov  by Nadine Brandes I read this Anastasia retelling in nineteen days when it came out. I loved this book so much! About half the novel was the Romanov’s in exile, and their life in a house where they couldn’t do that much. As the story progresses, we see that Nastya is a spell master, so this is how Fantasy is sprinkled in with the Historical Fiction to tell a new story. I loved all aspects of this novel, even the ones that were sad, and almost caused me to throw this book across the room. I will review this book later on this month. I recommend this for any...
