Top Ten Tuesday + 1 from 2019- Favorite Books of the last ten years (one book per year)

Welcome back! I am in a time crunch today but I still wanted to put this up. As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana at  @thatartsyreadergirl. Every Tuesday, book bloggers gather and make a list of books based on a prompt. Today's topic is Top Ten Favorite Books of the last ten years, one book per year. I know that I discuss most of these books a lot, so I'll be brief with most of these.

1- 2009 Catch Fire by Suzanne Collins

This is the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy. The Hunger Games was my introduction to Dystopian  YA, and I am so thankful for this series. I enjoy both the book and the movie.

2- 2010 Mockingjay by Suzanne collins

The final book in The Hunger Games Trilogy also needed to make this list for the reasons I started above. I thought this book was the perfect way to end the series.

3- 2011 The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I loved this fantasy novel about a circus. This was a book that I read a few years after it came out.  I hadn't really read fantasy before this book, so in a way this was my introduction to the genre. I want to reread this book at some point before the authors new book comes out this year.

4-  2012 Eleanor & Park  by Rainbow Rowell

Are you surprised? I've only read three Rainbow Rowell books and this is my second favorite. I love this YA novel with  romance. I didn't like Eleanor's family all that much, and I was rooting for her.

5-  2013 Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Rather than banging into the ground how much I love this book, I will just say that Cath is one of my favorite character, and I wish that she were real so we could be friends.

6-  2014 To All The boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

I love both the book and the movie! This is such a cute YA story about a teen named Lara Jean who gets her letters sent out by her sister. This leads to her dating one of the boys Peter.

7-  2015 Simon Vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli  (Honorable mention- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas)

I couldn't pick just one book for this. I loved Simon because I loved the story and I loved the characters. The other book is the first in a series that I loved.

8- 2016 A court Of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses # 2) by Sarah J. Maas

The second book in the A Court of Thorns  and Roses series. This was one of my favorite books in the series as we know more about the characters. I just love the inner circle so much.

9-  2017 The  Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

A Historical Fiction that I adore. This is about two siblings, Monty and Felicity, who are on a European Tour with Monty's friend Percy. Shenanigans ensue and they must find a way out.

10-  2018 The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

I probably have another book that came out last year that I loved last year, but this came up pretty high on the Good Reads List I used. I loved this book when I read it earlier this year. I love Jude and I can't wait for November!

Honorable Mention- Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

This was one of my favorite reads of last year as well! It's an Anastasia Retelling set in space, and it was so good. I loved both Ana and Di.

Bonus!

11- 2019 Romanov by Nadine Brandes

A bonus! My favorite read of 2019 has been Romanov. If you follow me on Good Reads, you saw my glowing review, and updates as I was reading this book. This is a Historical Fiction with a dash of fantasy so the author can tell a different story.

Top Ten Tuesday- characters that remind me of myself

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This is a weekly meme where readers discuss ten or whatever number you would like to have based on a prompt. Our host is Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl . Our topic this week is Characters Like Myself. I am going to take a two words that each character has in in my opinion,  and discuss how that relates to me  as well. 1- Cather Avery from Fangirl Writer- At her core, Cath is a writer, and she loves her stories. I am a writer of both Fan Fiction and original stories like Cath so this was an automatic in for this. Both of us love our work and we tend to through ourselves whole hardheartedly into our work. Sisters- I might have mentioned this on the blog before but I have a younger sister and we’re only roughly 18 months a part. Cath and her twin sister Wren are polar  opposites and this is me and my sister. My younger sister is an extrovert and into science. I on the other hand,  am an introverted creative bookworm.  2- Miriam Kendrick from C

Top Ten Tuesday- Favorite Books of the Year Part 1 (12-21)

Hi! Jana hosts Top Ten Tuesday @ thatartsyreadergirl . The purpose of this meme was to bring the book blogging community together and foster our love of lists. Each week, Jana posts a topic, and we readers respond based on that prompt. This week our topic is a freebie, so I decided to make my list of my top ten reads part one.   Middle Grade 12- Never After by Melissa de la Cruz I'm almost done with this book. It's a duology, and I loved the new twist on fairy tales.    YA 13- Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith I read this early in the year and it stuck with me. This YA Contemporary about gaming and the culture of the gaming industry was fantastic.  14- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak It took me years to read this book but I really enjoyed it. I love the unique narrator, the characters, and the story.  15- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas This is another backlist release. I loved this book, and I knew when I read it that it had the potential to be on this list. I still thi

2019 Book Resolutions Tag!

Hey everyone! So Thursdays on the blog I am going to post a new tag. I think tags are so much fun, and I enjoy the time to reflect on what I’ve read in the past, or what I want to read. Images come from Goodreads. I grabbed the questions from  this blog 1. An author you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before). Leigh Bardugo! I have heard such great things about the Grisha verse, so I want to see if it lives up to all the hype. I have a feeling it will, and I am intrigued by the world. I got the first three books in the series as one large Ebook , so I ’m going to start that next month. I can’t wait to go on the journey and be immersed in a new series!  2. A book you’d like to read. Romanov by Nadine Brandes I love Anastasia and the Romanov family. This looks like such a fantastic retelling. I am drawn in just reading the blurb on Goodreads.  3. A classic you’d like to read. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’ve had the Barnes and Nobel edition of
