Top Ten Tuesdays- Rainy Day books!

Welcome Back! I am having so much fun with Top Ten Tuesdays and getting to know the book blogging community through these posts. As always, Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted by Jana at  thatartsyreadergirl. This meme has been hosted by Jana in January 2018, but was hosted at The Broke and The Bookish since 2010.

The topic for this week is Rainy Day Reads. This means different things for different people,  and for me it means Fantasy and YA. I'm not a mystery reader, but I fee I could be I need to find the mystery to hook me in. I have not read these on a rainy day, but I feel that I would.

1-4 A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas

I was not an active book blogger in 2018, so I feel it best to tell you all this story. In 2018, I had heard all the hype for this series with A Court of Frost and Starlight coming out last May. Following the hype train, and I can tell you that this series is worth all the hype it deserves.  The first book in this series hooked me and continued  to read them  when the fourth book came out. I'm aware that this series is a mixed bag for bloggers. I love each and every book in this series, and yes, that includes A Court of Frost and Starlight. I thought it was a fun book and really sets the tone for the rest of the series.

5-6 Folk Of Air (The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King) by Holly Black

I followed the hype train for this book as well. I read these two in 2019, and I am so here for this series.  The world and the characters in this book are lovely and lush. I'm not a high fantasy person, but I love these two stories. What drew me in was the hype yes, but also the glowing reviews from the bloggers. I know this series is another mixed bag, but I just love it so much.

7- Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I love this cute YA story. I would love to go back into this story and reread it. I love the characters in this book and I love the story of Simon and Bram. The film of this is great, but I still prefer the book to the movie. If you don't already know, the movie is called Love Simon.

8-  Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

This is a sequel to Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda that came out last year. I enjoyed this book, however, to me it was not  Simon to me, I still prefer Simon. I loved Leah as a character, and I thought she was a fantastic main character, and she was relatable to me. I loved knowing her story, and I felt this was a story that needed to be told. My biggest issue with the book was that the twist was built up so much that I was kind of let down when the big reveal happened.  I loved them as a couple, and at The Prom, but after so much build up, I thought we would get a bigger final reveal.

9- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

You all know me, so you might have been expecting a Historical Fiction on this list. This a World War Two novel told in letters about the war and the aftermath. I loved the unique style of this book and the characters in the book are fantastic. This would be a perfect rainy day read for me because it is sad and dramatic.



10- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I read this book in 2017. This is a fantasy and a historical fiction, and I would love to escape to the world of the circus and this book on a rainy day.  A plan for this summer is to reread this book to prep for Erin Morgenstern's new book in November.
