INFJ Literary Characters!!!

Hello!  It has been a few days, and I meant to post more content to the blog this week. I hope to upload more content next week; I have some book reviews planned, I just need to write them. Anyway, I am taking part  in BookEnding Spring this year. I loved the prompt given by Charvi@Not Just Fiction . The original prompt was Type A Personality, and while I identify as a Type A, I wanted to discuss characters that relate to my MBTI.


According to personalityperfect.com my personality is

" INFJs are visionaries and idealists who ooze creative imagination and brilliant ideas. They have a different, and usually more profound, way of looking at the world. They have a substance and depth in the way they think, taking nothing at surface level or accepting things the way they are. Others may sometimes perceive people with the INFJ personality type as weird or amusing because of their different outlook on life." 

I feel this fits my personality  to a T. 

Amelie from Amelie

While not from a book, but from the film and a musical, Amelie is the best representation of an INFJ in the media in my opinion. She is a child who was isolated, which led to her being isolated and distant as an adult. I relate to this because I find that when I'm stressed, or just don't want to talk to anyone, even my family I will isolate myself. Amelie is imaginative, and I would definitely  say that I am an imaginative  person.  As the story of the film and the musical progresses, strangers discuss their stories with Amelie, because she is a good listener, and she is  good of character. I too am kind hearted and a good listener. 

Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mocking Bird 

While reading this book last year, I was relating to Atticus. He is a lawyer who is quiet, but this does not mean that he is not a strong character who will not fight for what he believes in, or what he feels is right. In the same vein, I am quiet by nature mostly, but I will still be vocal about what I think is what, and I will voice my opinion. I don't like conflict much like Atticus, and others with our personality, but this does not mean that I will just sit idle and let things happen. I will fight when I see something I don't agree with. Like Atticus and Amelie, I love helping people!!! I will help people if they ask, and I will ask for nothing in return. 

Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice 

While there is some debate on if Lizzie is an INFJ, for the sake of this blog post, I will call her an INFJ. I am a unique person in many ways, and like Elizabeth, I don't feel the need to conform to the social norms of society.  I have my own opinions and values, much like she does, and I will act on these no matter what. Elizabeth is one that makes judgments and opinions before she  knows the whole story, or all of the information to make an objective opinion. While I do see both sides of a situation, I do find that I make judgments based on what I think I know as opposed  to what I actually know. Lizzie is stubborn, and I would say that my stubbornness is a flaw in my character as well. 

Jane Eyre from Jane Eyre

When discussing book characters who are INFJ's, Jane is  one of the best written in my opinion. Jane Eyre is another character who will not  change herself to fit into society. She is strong willed, independent minded, she is her own person. However, she also has a gentle flare about her, and this is what makes her a relatable character to INFJ's. I am strong willed and I make my own opinions on things, while I agree with most people I meet about a topic, I will come to these conclusions on my own, much like Jane. I have heard people say in the past that I have a gentleness about me, and as I grow older, I start to see this in myself as well. I might be a quiet person with a lot of control, but if you talk to me about something I am passionate about, IE: theater, books, writing, history, and some games, I can discuss these  subjects for hours on end. I see this as a characteristic Jane has a well, she is quiet so I feel people just assumed she  have any hobbies or passions, so they just never asked her what she did in her free time.
